Arabs are angry people. Always angry with high temper and it does not require a lot for them to go insane.
They take very quick decisions which they regret later and never learn from.
I don’t see what they’re upset about… they would’ve been creamed and humiliated in their first match at the World Cup anyway, and with more people watching!
Frankom,
Not only Egyptians were barbarians post even pre match
I think you read as I did what Algerians did and how they behaved. I am not condemning them at the end el mawdoo3 reflects how civilized they are
Patrick, totally agree! I kept thinking this is a 1 day reaction … but it kept escalating and escalating, ridiculous really!
frankom,
Zaydoun,
La I think they both wouldve been done a decent job and maybe go to next round bcz its in Africa.
chika,
Again it goes for both.
Also I want to add something ..
There is history between these two teams, in the 80′s they were in the same situation and after the game the Algerian players beat up the Egyptian team and staff and a dr lost his eye. It also happened again in the 80′s.
But again that is not an excuse, no matter what ‘history’ they had between them its not worse than France – Britain and their history of wars!
ma6goog,
@Chika
i don’t believe both stories (Egyptian and Algerian) i believe that we don’t deserve to represent Arabs in world cup
I expected an international incident when watching the game the tension is way to high and the general populace of these two countries only have football to look forward too.
At least they could qualify. Have you seen the latest Kuwait game? We were disgusting.
The incident has little to do with football and even less with the conflictive history of the two countries. This is a fact and the public is subconsciously aware of it since they continuously reassert that things were blown way out of proportion, which is true.
The incident reflects a much broader problem, in which ordinary Arab citizens attempt to vent their justified disappointment and frustrations over their brutalized status as citizens through unjustified measures.
There are a lot of “Arab occurrences” in which the public’s reaction seems disproportionate to the original action that induced this excessive retaliation. The Dutch comic strip of Mohammad was one incident, for example, in which the public excessively raged against – not the strip itself – but against the poverty, the ignorance, the corruption, and their own dehumanization by their governments.
It’s moments like these that make me glad I’m a commoner, where the worse thing I could do is clobber a couple people as opposed to screw entire masses.
Regards,
Quick tempered Arab who never learns from his mistakes.
nibaq, ya I saw Kuwait’s game and was supporting Indonesia actually.
A/Z,
Anonymous Farmer,
That is exactly what it is, and I was going to write a separate post on how this is exactly like the Denmark thing, but you summed it up better than I would have
I’m glad you agree. Makes me hopeful in regards to having perceptive Arab minds out there. Had a hunch – and a higher expectancy – of you, given your savvy comments on this page in particular. And despite that unbelievably juvie milf post.
lol seriously I couldnt resist not posting about that!
Pardoned.
And I totally understand since I couldn’t resist tearing it apart. You don’t mind constructive criticism, do you.
In any case, it made my day; nothin’ like milfy way to cheer y’up.
i agree with AZ
peace
