Hurricane Sibeecha hits Kuwait

Today we had our mini version of a hurricane, and I decided to call it Hurricane Sibeecha, since all hurricanes have female names!

It was a ridiculous mixture of hail, rain, wind, dust, gusts …. etc.

There were many many more scenes like that which I couldnt take pictures of! I saw light posts on the ground, I saw scaffolding fallen from buildings onto the roads, I saw huge billboards plucked from the ground …

I really hope not many people were hurt, and thank God we have the law against the elections signs on the roads, otherwise it could have been even more disastrous!

    Thanks for the pictures.

    I won’t call the mixture ridiculous but rather fascinating or phenomenal. Brutal, yes it is. But it really tells how week human beings are.

    PS: Cats can anticipate such things, human being don’t. :P

    My sister and i were at home….and kilish ma 7asaina ib shay ! At one point i saw some lightning at the bottom of the curtain…and i was like “NAAAAAAAH couldnt be” a few minutes later i heard thunder…..and i thought…oh it might be raining…..i looked out….nothing…..and that was the end of it.

    Kuwait is not that big….so explain to me how we missed it ?!

    El 7amdellah 3ala el salameh man. My brother told me about it last night. He was having shisha outdoors and when it hit them, he was dodging flying debries, including empty (and full) soda cans, forks, knives, chairs and a couple of tables!

    amazing how much damage could be done in so little time. i was on 1st ring road when it hit, and on early friday evening, many were out on foot in that area…it looked like something out of a horror movie how suddenly it started. my car got hit by one of those red and white metal barriers around sheraton roadabout…a few fell from the force of the wind, but one came flying towards me, luckily it missed my window by a couple of inches…she has a dent, but fairuz (my car) can handle it

    This was an example of a possible supercell thunderstorm. But I would have to see the Doppler Radar archive to verify that. Hope someone does a case study on this event.
