The latest example of why us Arabs and Muslims will always remain in the dark ages -
UK teacher goes to court in Sudan
A student in her class called Mohammed names a teddy bear after himself …. and now they want to give her 40 lashes and a jail sentence for blasphemy and insulting Islam!!
As usual, I expect riots and flag burning, since thats the limit of our communication methods with the world these days …
P.S. - Fact - The most common name in the world is ……………………….. Mohammad!

Amazing… I read this article yesterday and it just struck me, we really are in the dark ages. Too bad they don’t have the option to comment on it.
I mean first the Saudi gang rape case and then this… we are seriously trying to shoot ourselves in the foot here. Just makes you wonder how much more crap we have stored.
On a lighter note, here’s a headline I read at mideastminute.com

Don’t know why this didn’t show in the last post but here it is:
Saudi man is told distasteful “yo mamma” joke; mother receives 200 lashes, 6 months in prison

It wasn’t even her idea, yet she’s punished for it!

In a nutshell we have a full spectrum of responses starting with the nutjobs who want her punished, the more moderate nutjobs who think the kindergarten kids should be punished “for being blasphemous”, those calling for a public apology and then there’s the rest of us normal folk.

well, they recently let her out, which is good, but it took a “pardon” by the president of sudan. a little ridiculous isn’t it.

I agree on how huge the issue was made. But, did u know that in the western world, it is forbidden for a teacher to do the same act and call it Jesus (as an example), so she knew better. She shouldnt have agreed to it. Of course, the lashes thing was stupid, they should have just told her to stop calling the damn bear Mohammed.
