One guy uses his position to fire 8 people in his department recently in order to replace them with another 8 people that are min “jamaa3ta” (his own kind).
Another guy uses his position to benefit someone very close to him who works in the same company.

My question is, why are they making a big deal out of these things?? I think Gonzalez and Wolfowitz would fit perfectly in almost any company here in Kuwait!!

At least in the modern world, when they find out about someone of the likes of Paul Wolfowitz, they would investigate the whole matter, which may end in his resignation and embarrassment. While in our lovely country, they would promote the guy just to cover the whole thing up!!

cronyism is counter-productive wherever you find it. Group think just leads to bigger blind spots.

If you were in a position of power and someone close to you came and asked you for a favor, I assure you you’ll use your influence to help him.
It’s not a matter of good/bad person. “elthoroof t7idik” ment rad ahalik o ti6la3 belshayna etc.

The problem is that no one is held accountable so it creates this vicious vitamin W cycle that Kuwait is stuck in now, and it demands that you participate or perish.
PS my first time visiting your site, gotta love it!

(Opinion)…..It is important that we stand AGAINST corruption, even in the case(s) where it seems to be accepted (the norm).
For those of us who believe and try to live ethically, we have a responsibility to make it known that we do not tolerate such behavior and Q8 (like many other countries) need to take a stand for CHANGE. If Q8tie society sticks w/ the mentality that “Corruption is Normal”, then I feel bad for all the generations to come, for they will see that their elders refused to take a stand to MAKE A CHANGE for the betterment of themselves and their future.
