*UPDATE* - After two hours and getting the network back, I couldn’t call any other MTC number, and surprisingly, I got an automated message from a company in French and English!! Couldn’t catch the name of the company, was hoping it was MTC’s new name, but couldn’t catch it no matter how many times I called to listen again!

Yesterday and today alone, I had at least 10 dropped calls, which means that the line suddelny cuts off in the middle of the phone call!
I was talking to my friend, and the phone got disconnected, so I called him again and we were both complaining about how often that has been happening this week, and of course, the phone disconnected again so I had to call again!!
To make things worse, right now I cannot use my phone because of -

It has been this way for the past 30 mins (stayed for 2 hours) at least for both my wife’s phone and mine! Both of us use MTC.
This really is incredible from a company that is supposedly global by now and is getting into new markets day by day! This should not happen at all, for it to happen for a full week and then we get this “No Access to network” sign is just ridiculous!
If they are trying to fix the problem and therefore we are getting this sign, then the least they could do is send a message to suscribers telling them that they are facing technical problems and are expecting network problems at certain times!!
Good thing Im not in an emergency or else this would be a very serious matter!!
Anyone with Wataniya having problems?? I can’t call my friends and check.

I know, I tried called 107 it’s down too i guess. My friend is a wataniya subscriber, and shes not facing any problems.
I seriously hope they have a VERY good explanation for this.

which means they have lots of work so cut them some slack yes the network will cut for an hour a day or even a whole week they are justified they are working… show some EMPATHY please
or else just switch to wataniya maybe they will serve you better … gijjjj

why does it come at a shock to you ?
you are in kuwait no one care about customers
because you gave your mobiles to your friends you are stuck to MTC for life , they can add 10 files each year and you will stay for 5 more

يعني لو سيارة حضرتج اختربت ومو قادرة تروحين تخلصين مشاوريج الوضع عادي بالنسبة لج وتنطرين الشركة الام لما تعدل الموديل !

I had the same message on my phone this afternoon. then service came back without edge or wap and now its back to normal. Strange.

same here back to normal now.. enjoyed the silence while it lasted on the positive side.. and I guess stuff happens no matter how advanced things are.. remember the power shut off in NYC the financial capital of the world supposedly?

Read the post, I did not say that this should never happen, I agree that sometimes in life, shit happens….what im saying is that since it is happening and they realize that it is, the least they should do is send a message to their subscribers apologizing or at least explainng the shittiness of the service!!
Also, the fact that they are working does not justify anything!
One more thing….u meant sympathy, not empathy.

I was like totally pissed off with my phone.
Ok now i realise it was a problem of MTC.

Was a bit annoyed at getting “Emergency Only” on my mobile. To top it up, I had to call my wife at 12 for her bday. Was getting a bit paranoid. Till the network came back in time.
Just earlier yesterday, I requested for an online recharge for ma phone. I didnt receive the message in 5 minutes. So i called up the customer support, and they resent the message. Was cool…
It might not be the best, but it work. I guess am just pleased coz I got to speak to ma wife..

By the way. I think we need an orginization that protect consumers from MTC and WAtaniyah. they are too big of an organization. They cut off conversations in the network so they can benifit for redailed minutes. For example, I have two call twice because the first phone called was one sided so I have to call again to get a two sided conversation. I barely complian about but I should because they have no problem arreesting people and stop them from traveling to pay 40 or 35 KD telephone bills.
I think the MTC network is out dated on perpouse or surely pure laziness.
There should be or let form an organization that will keep them in check.

Im a wataniya user and I got lost in avenues and couldnt contact my friends who were all mtc users…thalait a7oos o a7oos o a7ooooooooos until i decided to just sit on a bench and wait.
They found me
It was one veeeeery looooong day for me.
Usually if wataniya are expecting network problems they inform us with an sms. I say switch to wataniya the lot of ya!

I am not a big fan of either MTC or Wataniya, but thats what we have over here, so what to do.
So I have to agree with Delicately Realistic, get a Wataniya line cuz I honestly have to say that I havent had too many problems with them- good luck!

I am not a wataniya user but my friend is and had similar problems :S shame when the whole network does tht eh?

I work in the telecomm field .. and there is no reason this should happen. Networks should not cut out; and if they do, there should be endless backup links.
If they strive to become a global company; they should also strive to have a world class-network. If MTC are unable to keep their network operational within Kuwait; they shouldn’t be branching out. MTC/Wataniya overcharges for services .. services which don’t even work. This is not acceptable by any means.
How would you feel if you were unable to call an ambulance for an emergency?
