Earlier today I had a meeting at the Free Trade Zone, and on my way back I saw the flamingos that are always there. It always intrigued me how we have this bird here in our coast but its never been considered a local bird! I dont even remember right now what its called in Kuwait…
Anyway, this is a closeup of the flamingos having fun under the Kuwaiti sun…

very clever … thanks for noticing the flamingos, but is it a local bird ? or its on its way to a cooler place ? a Transit stop ? moshkela if they stay few more days, they’ll be served as sheesh Tawooq at a local restaurant

I knew the existed somewhere (my cousin is a bird freak) but i never really saw them, they dont seem very pink though?

fuzzy, I dont really know if its here on transit but I do know that Ive seen them alot b4, ive been to that area b4 just to see them! That probably means that they have at least been passing through kuwait for many years, so akeed there’s a local name!
white wings, yea u find it in that area mostly, I was told at mostashfa alsabaa7 too from others…

dear friends escuse my english , i found my self have 2 respound espishally these days , because i live near the gulf and during the iraqi accupetion 2 our kuwait ,i was seeying the flamingos every day & when the iraqies took the glf side they left …. but soon after the libaration they back & i still see these beatiful birds since then every day all the year

هذي مو اول مره اشوف فلامنغوز بالكويت .. وتحديدا عند المنطقه اللي كنت فيها .. بالاول كنت اشوفهم عالبحر خلف جامعة الشويخ
بس منو فيكم يدري ان عندنا دلافين بالكويت .. مره طالعين طلعة بحر .. ولا حوالي 4 مع بعض قاعد يسبحون معانا ويلعبون .. بس مادري ليش دلفينا شكله وصخ مو نفس اللي بالتلفزيون

I thought they died after the Gulf War!
Why aren’t they pink? I want fuschia flamingos in my sweet home!
I want to go there and take pics…

I love that part of Kuwait (low rise buildings alot of open green space). Always thought the flemingos were there around the cooler season like nov - march. More interesting birds in Bobyan though, too bad will be overtaken by port and other concrete buildings.

these are flamingos .. i know they have been there for a couple of years, i remember when the american war on iraq we dont go out alot so me and my family go there just to watch them hehehe…also when i have a break between lectures we pass by them with my friend.. i thought its like a project or ma7meya maybe some one told me that or i just made it up! trying to shoot them is difficult they are far away.
