And you wonder why people go to treat themselves outside Kuwait for everything??

السلام عليكم و رحمة الله

Every Friday my wife and I go for lunch at a restaurant, and our weekly dilemma is always “sooo….where do you want to eat today??” and this question gets thrown back and forth from the time we get up till the time we’re in the car driving to the yet unknown destination! Eventually something has to pop that we agree on….

Anyway that got me thinking about posting my top 5 restaurants in Kuwait, and feel free to invite me to any of them at any time -

1 - Edo - Best sushi in town, what I like about them is that they don’t go crazy with their sushi, they try to keep it as simple as possible in terms of ingredients. Also, the atmosphere is very relaxed and chill, everything is white and the music is nice and loungy, I always feel happy whenever I enter Edo!
2- Casper & Gambini’s - My home away from home. I’m sure I’ve had more food from Casper’s in the past two years than from anywhere else including home! Their service is incredible, they’re the best at customer relations, also their food is very delicious and healthy, and always 20 mins away by one phone call!
3- Maki - Maki is what made sushi cool in Kuwait! Their sushi is excellent too, except for my taste they have been overdosing their sushi with extra sauces and spicy mayo and such….it obviously happened because the market demands so you cant blame them! The atmosphere is very different, its very loud and dark and the tables are right next to each other, so its the perfect place for guys and girls to hang out in a cool place with good food and also get a chance to check each other out! The Marina Waves Maki is amazing by the way!
4- Chilis - In my opinion, this is the best family oriented restaurant in Kuwait! I really like their food, and I like the fact that when you go there for lunch or dinner, its always full, and alot of families and couples go there too! Many places offer same kind of food (Friday’s, Ruby Tuesday, Applebee’s), but for me Chilis has the best food and crowd.
5- Villa Fayrouz - I’m not a huge fan of Lebanese food, but Villa Fayrouz is exceptional when it comes to the starters (mazza). I never order a main course there, its always 5 or 6 starters, and they are amazing! I’ve never left that place unsatisfied! Also, the atmosphere is very nice too, with Fayrouz in the background and nice atmosphere!

These are my choices for my favourite 5 restaurants here in Kuwait ……… opinions and thoughts??Also I’d like to see your lists!

I was using the internet at around 6 PM, and at around 6:30 PM it went down….its nearly 12AM now and still no internet!! I use Qualitynet, so not sure if its the same with FastTelco and others or not!

Anybody know what’s the cause of this?? Is it related to the whole delay thing last month when some wire connecting us to UAE was broken or something??

This post is brought to you by GPRS using my phone, and its not as bad as I thought it would be! Its my first time using this whole technology, but its cool!

How come GPRS works fine but not my Qnet connection? Is it a different technology? Enlighten us oh great techies!

How can a country like Kuwait be suffering from shortages in electricity and water??

One of the richest countries in the world, going through the best economic periods with surplusses going through the roof…

We actually have enough extra money laying around to give every Kuwaiti 200KD for the summer!!

Our parliament members are also asking for an extra 50KD increase in all salaries every month forever, as well as dropping the loans from every citizen since we have all that extra money, right?

The why the hell are we living like Syria with electricity blackouts and water shortage right in the middle of the hottest time of the year, where the temperature is 50 degrees, no ACs are working, and at the same time people cant shower, so you can just imagine the beautiful aromas all around!

There is absolutely no sense in doing what they did, that 200,000,000 KD spent for no reason could have been easily utilized to solve any electricity or water problems, as well as fix the hospitals, get professional teachers for schools, and much much more!

The government shouldnt treat the people like kids even though they are acting like kids! AlWatan is the perfect example of begging for more money all the time, which is extremely childish, and then the government doing that to shut people up is worse!

The words “long term” and Kuwaiti government strategy dont seem to mix at all!

Really annoying!

Going along with my previous post, I decided to send some of the funny clips I got on my phone to my YouTube thing! I actually totally forgot that I have an account, which I created last year to upload the wataniya ad rip off video for that post.

Anyway, check out my YouTube page finally!

Also, the only reason I used the words bluetooth and بلوتوث is because im sure alot of ppl will stumble here from searching for بلوتوث on google or something :)

This is my new obsession….

Link!

I can literally spend hours on this damn thing!! I love the simple creativity by normal people, nothing fancy, no special effects, only an idea and a some basic work and you’re on for millions of people to watch, rate, and comment on your work!

It made me wish I knew how to do some basic editting and wish I had the creativity these people have!

I’d love to see some more stuff done by Kuwaitis, I know alot of people who got the skill for this stuff…. especially someone like Nazar AlQandy (last part of that post) and his crew, who have always been very creative and somewhat couragous, would love to see short clips of their work here like the stuff they used to have on the show U-turn, or anything really!

My favourites from browsing yesterday -

Very creative dance group

Not sure if this has been posted somewhere else yet or not, but I recieved this by email yesterday, and had to post it!

Im also not sure if this real or just a joke -

LOL! Too funny!

Haven’t said much about politics lately, still no opinion on things, but a few quotes I found today that are interesting -

—————————————————————————————–
Nasrallah - Hizbullah achieve a “historic and strategic victory

Bush said - “Hizbullah suffered a defeat in the war”

Olmert said - “We made mistakes”, we did not achieve what we hoped to do (public polls show 52% of voters say that Israel did not succeed in their war), and major divisions have risen within the government and Knesset with alot of opposition. Two weeks ago when war started, there was total support and unity in the decision of war.

Najad said - Bush “wants to solve everything with bombs”

Bush said - “Iran must stop its support for terror”

——————————————————————————-

Doesn’t it all seem like a bad joke??

*P.S. - Very nice related post by q80Demon

Nothing to post about at all….so I will mention something that happened yesterday that felt like an achievement.

I generally try to avoid 2nd, 3rd, and 5th ring roads, but yesterday had to take 2nd ring road from one end to another….

I went through the whole 2nd ring road without a single traffic light being red all the way to the last one on Gulf Road!
I felt proud of myself even though I had absolutely nothing to do with it :)

The simple joys of life!

Summer.

Bored.
