You really gotta love Dr. Saleh AlOjairy!! I honestly think that this man has a really great sense of humor!!
Last year, this came out and we really didn’t know what to do with it! Do we believe it or do we laugh with him or at him!?
This time when I saw this peice on page 4 in AlQabas, I thought, this should be interesting….

LOOOOOOL!! I swear if he was a comedian, he would be years beyond everyone else in Kuwait! This is really one of the funniest things I have ever read in a Kuwaiti newspaper!! LOOL!
Dr. AlOjairy is known for his sense of humor btw, so Im not sure if this is an inside joke between him and the other guy, or if its just a prank, either way its hilarious! Paying 500KD or whatever for 1/4th of a page to say that its not fair that this person wants me to pay him 4 KD is excellent!
Thank you Dr. AlOjairy…..
I always respected him for what he has done in his life with the little resources he had, and now I like him even more for his sense of humor!

HE was an actor in his youth. in one of his plays he portrayed a head scientist of sorts, and in one scene he rebuked his fellow scientists by telling them:
أنتم كلكم على مستواً عالي
while he pointed to his shoes
= أنتم كلكم على مستوى نعالي
He also dabbled as a magician.. And once I read a short science fiction story written by him.

Lool! sij great sense of humor. And i think even his serious press releases that people regard as el kubur shain (like when he said we’re all gonna die), i think he speaks in symbolism .. he has msgs hidden between the lines that someday we’ll know, if not already.
Great piece.

Jandeef, well he did talk about shortage of water, maybe he struck a deal with a7mad alfahad to prove his predictions correct?
Shurouq, ameen!
Mamafusla, “sophisticated and advance sense of humor” is right! When I read it, I thought it was very Monty Pythonish!
Delicately Realistic, eee walla, one is great, imagine how much more our press would be with more!

Q: It was a short story probably published in a student magazine – maybe in Cairo? I think it was titled: “my Daughter is a Pilot”. If I remember the plot involved a guy who takes his daughter to an airfield and she sneaks into a balloon or an aircraft and flys away. The guy debates with his friends on how to bring her back – one of them suggests to wait until she reaches New York City so that she might jump into one of the skyscrapers! At the end it is revealed the guy was dreaming :-/
Some oldtimers still remember his magic tricks which he’d perform in school festivities. One of his famous tricks involved asking a member of the audience for a ring. He takes the ring and turns around for a moment as he works on something. When he faces the audience again he drops a HUGE ball of yarn, what we call in Kuwait
مسالتش
and he’d invite them to unfurl it, and when they do they find the ring tied up to the end
