*UPDATE* - A source from the ministry of interior said that the reason for the sirens is a technical error “خلل فني” , this was from the news flash bar on the bottom on the KTV!
———————————————————————————
Who else heard the sirens today?? You know the ones used for air raids….
My wife and I were at starbucks enjoying our coffee and reading the paper when she got a phone call from her sister who was asking about the sirens! Being inside we didnt hear a thing, but the reaction from a couple outside told us that the sirens can be heard, and we checked and we did hear them too…
Since the newspaper was in our hand, we looked if there was a practice run today or something….nothing!
We were about to leave anyway, so in the car we switched on the radio and it was music in all channels and some show on KTV radio.
But the sirens were still on! We called someone we knew who is in the military, and he said that he asked around and that there is nothing, everything is ok…
So, how are we supposed to know if the sirens are for real or just practice?? We’ve had so many practices that I doubt anyone will care or know the difference if a real siren is on! Its like the boy who cried wolf ..
If anybody knows anything about this siren and why it was on…plz enlighten us…

I have a very cynical mind. Please don’t take my opinion seriously.
When I heard the sirens today and later found out it was dismissed as a “technical error” I somehow thought it was a good “disorienting technique” for the country before tonight’s planned “orange” demonstration in front of the N.A. - it’s a tactic to remind people “Hey don’t cause trouble…remember these sirens? We have exterior enemies. Maintain national unity.”

Amer, that did cross my mind to be honest…
I really really want to be at the rally tonight …. cant! In bed with the flu :(((
and purg, not only different areas, but i heard them again when i was back home about an hour after i heard them first….what kind of technical difficulties in something so important (supposedly) take an hour to fix??

sirens or no sirens!
esta`3fir allah al siren became like hearing al athan ,, (meaning)
we got used to it,they switch them on everyonce in a while as a reminder:
“WERE THE GOVERNMENT, WERE HERE, WE WILL ALWAYS BE HERE, U STILL NEED US TO PROTECT U … OR ELSE”
