You know, I read it in the morning and initially thought there was something wrong with the title. Then I asked around and verified that there is a specialist on heredity named, yes you guessed it: Makkeya Maarafy
May I ask anyone who is going to attend to brief us on this topic; is there something in the Kuwaiti gene-pool that made us reluctant to embrace progress?

Which candidate will have Nancy and Haifa?

You know, maybe our recluctance to embrace progress can be traced to our genes, who knows.

You know what’s funny? In my last trip to Japan, I said the following to one of my co-workers who was there with me:
- You know? I think I’m starting to belive that order and respect comes in the genes of those guys?
- Oh? How come?
- I believe that if you start with harsh laws and apply them on all, then you’ll have a slightly more organized & respectfull generation. Do the same on this newer generation and you’ll get an even better one.
At the end you’ll get people who just can’t break rules because they’re not wired to do so!
- *lol* that’s the theory of evolution
(after that the conversation dragged on to something else)
Call me crazy, but if you live in Kuwait and see people fighting in the streets with their car-honks and flipping fingers to others, and then you go to a place like Japan where EVERYONE bows to everyone and never return penetrating stares and just don’t know how to act pissed or angry, then you may start thinking like me.

Yes El-Shatti is pressing on the Shi’a issue in Rumaithiya. You should have read his flyers. OMG, unbelieveable.
June 13th, 2006 at 11:13 am
Are you serious? Is he saying shi3a have different genes? Or he probably means 3ayam since shi3a is just a math’hab and can be practiced by any race. But either way, what a stupid lecture.

hmmm.. you know that title can easily be taken in an offensive way?
Ya3ne we were always under the impression that it was our genes that held us back and she’s gonna tell us how our genes are really “ok”? haha
Talk about an inferiority complex =)
ok ok.. I’ll go and see what the fuss is about.

This article is about a Dutch experiment which suggests that traffic works better if you get rid of traffic lights and bus lanes and things.

Just had an email from a student who finds it a bit odd that lecturers would be bloggers. Nice odd, though.

Just heard about this via LINGUIST. The bit that intrigued me is the suggestion that machines can measure how drunk you are based on prosody alone.
