Borakan….

lil asaf ur article was the only voice of reason in the newspaper! Read what other writers said in AlQabas in the past 2 days!!

Personally, I started a post about the issue and then gave up. I gave up when I saw the extent this issue reached, and how backwards people are, and how the herd mentality here rules above everything else! The voice of reason is lost…and this time its not just the people, its governments and businesses who are following this trend also as part of the herd!

When you have all the arab embassadors going to denmark and governments taking a stand against another government, and big companies like Carrefour (French company) in Dubai and Oman and Sultan Center in Kuwait (I called and checked) banning Danish products, and even educated people I talk to at work and outside work are into that and agree with the boycott….all because of a cartoon drawn by one person 5 months ago!!! This person may be ignorant and doesnt know that it is forbidden to depict the prophet, or he may not care and drew it anyway…..either way, its one freaking guy at a newspaper, not the Pope declaring war against Islam!!

….its the lowest point our society will reach! When we succumb to a few fundamentalists’ ideas!

To be totally honest its an issue that depressed me alot. Seeing all this passion and action and coordination on an issue like this and not even 1000th of that on something like how bad education is in our country.

I wish we can send one tape of a friday speech to these countries, and how we tell people on a weekly basis and pray that God destroys “alyahood walnasaara”, and that may their women be raped, and that we want them all to die, and we say this to our kids who attend the prayers and obviously expect to learn something…

We have a society that doesnt understand any kind of freedom of speech! Also, the idea that a newspaper does not represent a country is something that we cannot understand! Here, the newspapers are a puppet of the government, in Denmark, even the editor cant censor the cartoon writer bcz of his freedom and independance just like the newspaper!

Borakan…

When u see all these people rioting and following the herd without knowing anything or trying to read up on the issue is depressing…

When people have no understanding at all of freedom of speech, its depressing…

When all people do is ask the government for more free money and to drop all loans, its depressing…

When a Jordanioan newspaper editor is fired for showing the cartoons, which can easily be found anywhere on the net, its depressing…

When you have doctors calling to boycott insulin bcz of this, its depressing…

When you have Kuwaitis telling other Kuwaitis to boycott KDD, its depressing…

When you see your country going downhill with no bright future to look forward to, its depressing…

BoRakan, it feels exactly like being on a beach and watching a 10000 meter wave come straight at you and there is nothing u can do about it… you cant run and u cant resist it…thats how i feel about things

I give up. I am a sheep.

Now I have a question for you….after the scandal of the newspapers during the Emir issue and with the shit we have seen during the yrs from all newspapers including AlQabas, dont you think it is time for you to disassociate urself with the newspaper?? Isnt it time for you to get online and use AlJassem’s model? Not a single censored article and another proof to our dinosaurs that the world is not what it used to be and is not under their control…
