During one of our outings last week, my friends and I bumped into a very interesting character. He was a friendly guy, and we got to talking about football after realizing he was involved in Kuwaiti football. He gave me his card, and I show u another proof of how bad sports are in Kuwait.
I felt sorry for the guy. Any 8 year old with a computer and some English language skills could’ve done a better card!
This is a card from what is supposedly our most popular team…..sad…

I have a serious request and suggestion for the betterment of hygiene in our society as a whole!
PLEASE have seperate toilets dedicated to mosques or prayer rooms, especially in public places!! I know this usually is the case, but sometimes certain places make a big difference!
Today, at marina mall, I went to the toilet to wash my hands. As soon as I entered, I was shocked to see one person with this his leg up to his knee inside the sink!! The other guy next to him was emptying his nose with such force that I was expecting his brains to start coming out of his nose too!!
If that wasn’t disgusting enough, both of them were spilling water all over the place from their hands, legs, face, and everything else! It was basically like someone held a water hose and just went crazy spraynig it everywhere!
Now, imagine if I was a foreign tourist coming to Kuwait, one of the places I would go for lunch would be marina mall, and have lunch at one of the many restaurants at the crescent overlooking the beautiful marina view.
Then, I go into a toilet, and see what looks like a hippo war going on!
Beautiful, no?
It really is not that hard, just add a couple of sinks near the prayer room!

As expected, we lost to Uzbekistan. What was not expected was the spirit the team showed for a change! I think in the first half, we had more shots and passes than all other games in qualifications combined!
It sucks that we were robbed by the referee! Gave the Uzbeks a penalty gift out of nothing, and denied us a clear penalty, which they scored on the following attack!
Can’t blame the players or coach at all, well played for once, but its a bit too little too late.
At least we wont have to suffer more agony concerning Wolrd Cup qualifiers! Best of luck to Bahrain in their next game against Uzbekistan! Thats a team worth following!
o hatha wayhy itha taghayyar shay bil itti7aad! The ref messed the game up and robbed us, but shit happens, and this is football! They will blame the ref for the downfall of Kuwaiti football, watch and see. They will stay in charge and will shift the blame somewhere else!

This is definitely the closest voting yet in the market research series!
Um Kalthoum wins with 1 more vote than Fayrouz!
If this proves anything, it proves that every vote counts ;-P
Some great info about her from Wikipedia.
“Her funeral was attended by over four 4 million mourners – one of the largest gatherings in history”
Unbelievable! Thats like all the 4 and half times all the Kuwaitis attending one funeral!
A true legend!

Due to a temporary block in my brain preventing me from thinking about anything non-football related, I will go back to the polls. This is a question to end all debate between Arabs over the true Arab diva!

Goat crowned King of Ireland at ancient festival
Wed Aug 10, 2005 5:37 PM BST
By Kevin Smith
DUBLIN (Reuters) - A wild mountain goat was crowned King of Ireland on Wednesday in an ancient annual ritual whose origins are lost in the mists of history.
For three days, Charlie, a grey male goat with brown trimmings, will reign over this year’s Puck Fair — one of Ireland’s oldest and best-loved street festivals — in Killorglin, in the southwestern county of Kerry.
“Nobody really knows how it came about or when,” said Jean Kearney, a spokeswoman for the festival, which is expected this year to attract more than 100,000 visitors for a marathon of music, drinking and dancing.
“It has been traced back to the 1600s, but some say it dates back to a festival held in pagan times.”
One theory is that the event pays tribute to a wild goat that alerted the town to the advancing armies of military leader Oliver Cromwell in the 17th century.
Another is that it stems from the pagan Celtic festival of Lughnasa, when feasting and sacrifices marked the start of the harvest season, and that the goat is a pagan fertility symbol.
“For the people round here it’s no exaggeration to say the Puck Fair is almost as important as Christmas,” Kearney said.
“It attracts thousands of tourists but it’s also a huge homecoming for Kerry people who have moved away. The atmosphere is just magical.”
Charlie, or King Puck to give him his official title, will later be raised up on an elevated platform in the centre of the town square where, from a height of 50 feet (15 metres), he will look down on his loyal subjects for the duration of the fair.
On Friday he will relinquish his gold crown and return to the mountains of Kerry where he was captured last week by local man Frank Joy — chief goat catcher for the past 15 years.
The festival, which also includes a traditional horse fair, open-air concerts, and firework displays, is expected to generate around 7 million euros (4.8 million pounds) for the local economy.

I think we should try this with our parliament! I suggest we use khirfaan, ba3areen, snakes, and jarabee3, since we are a desert country and this is what we have;P

After a day at marina mall, I realized that 90% of the shabaaab there have the same hairstyle…and after thinking hard to remember where Ive seen this haircut before…it came to me………

Is it a subconsious way for these people to relive their childtime memories?! ;-P
These two characters came to mind and everyone at marina mall looked like they were trying to imitate their haircuts…..

I mentioned inflation a few weeks ago in this post.
Today, we get news that people are fearing inflation and noticing it, with the minister of commerce and industry answering questions about the issue.

So, Kuwaitism reported it first! ;P
Well anyway, other than breaking the news before anyone else, how healthy do you think this is?? The fact that the government delibirately stops products from increasing prices, even when the economy itself means they should.

Someone turned my attention to the issue of copyrights in AlWatan that happened while I was out of the country.
Yesterday, AlWatan published this apology to readers and a writer by the name of Alaa’ Bayoomi. Here is a copy -

To be honest, I am very impressed, and have nothing but praise to AlWatan for this bold move! Hopefully, this will not just stop at Dr. AlShaijy’s stealing. Many more of their writers need to be checked again, such as Tabtaba’i stealing and others too…
That was the ‘copyrights’ part of the title, now on to the ‘idiots’….
Again from AlWatan, this article was published by someone who really cannot be called a writer, all his columns are personal attacks on specific people, and all of it is so badly written or supported that its fun to read….example -
hmmmm……is it just me or is this guy a total idiot?! The title of AlSarraf’s article is مصادفات تاريخية من الانترنت, soooooo, everyone would assume that this is information is taken from the internet, right?! wrong!! The writer decides that since some liberals wrote about AlShaijy’s stealing, then he will expose a huge stealing conspiracy by AlSarraf, who ’stole’ facts from the internet! Someone else wrote those facts in an article apparently in Egypt, and I know for a fact that Salah Muntasir at AlQabas also mentioned these facts in an article last year sometime, and I even got it by email once from a friend from college, and im sure there are more than a thousands websites that mention those facts……BUT this idiot insists that AlSarraf is as bad as AlShaijy and stole from the lady’s article! Maybe he read my email and stole it from me!?!
Ya3ny if the Egyptian writer did the research and discovered these facts, then Im with him 100%, but I’ve read this more than 6 years ago at least…..So basically both articles took information that is public knowledge on the internet and mentioned in their articles.
So someone who mentions historic facts that were mentioned in another article somewhere (among many many other places), is the same as someone who steals a whole article word by word and presents it as his own thoughts and ideas.
I honestly hate idiots, especially idiots who can spread stupidity through different forms of media.
