When I first read about the bluetooth clip of a girl dancing in the uniform, I thought to myself, “hehe, silly!”
Then I read that there was a special task force formed to go and capture the people involved in this clip. I started to think, “hmmm….its just a clip of a girl dancing in a uniform, whats the big deal??”
Then I read that the Minister of Interior was personally involved in this ‘case’ and that they were going to do all it takes to find these people! Now Im starting to think, “wait, there must be more to this clip than just dancing, I gotta check it out! Why would the Minister himself put himself in charge of this unless its a matter of national security, right?”
Then I saw the clip thanks to Mark. I checked it out, it was absolutely stupid and nothing to it! So I started thinking, “it must be because of summertime, and maybe all the criminals decided to take a vacation so there’s nothing bad happening in Kuwait, this must be the worst thing happening at the moment!”
Then, I read this yesterday, from AlWatan newspaper -

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?
Special task force, the minister is involved, and now a 7afl takreem for the people were involved?!? I don’t remember this much attention on the HUGE shipment of herroine found in Kuwait last week (the biggest ever)! Even the media coverage was NOTHING compared to this clip!
Anyone can go to the soug and buy a police uniform! So a guy films a girl dancing in a police uniform, WHATS THE BIG DEAL?!? Im sure its illegal, but honestly, what harm is there in that? The guy who did that is stupid and should be punished, and thats the end of it!
Speaking of the guy, I heard that he actually turned himself in. He was caught because his name was zoomed in to on the camera while the girl was dancing in one angle (thanks for the info wer3y). Soooo, if thats true, whats with the takreem? what was there to do in the case anyway?!
In the past few years, you have to admire all the work that has been done by the ministry and the people there, but Im sure there is something more important than a girl dancing in a police suit to occupy the minister and ministry!?

lol man this is tooooo funny. you know why all this? cuz it involved a girl! whenever there is a girl involved everyone wants to be involved.
when i was in highschool i was with a friend of mine (kuwaiti) in his convertible. we had 2 friends of mine who were girls sitting in the back, both from eastern europe. A cop stops us next to Burger king infront of sultan center, the reason? he said the 2 girls were dancing in the back which wasnt true at all. anyway within 15 minutes every single cop in Salmiya had surrounded our car! i swear no BS there were atleast 6 police cars the black and white, 3 other police cars which were dark grey, like 4 motor bike cops and 2 undercover agents all parked around us on the side of the road. i swear if you saw us you would think there was a big drug bust or something.
anyway after all the commotion was over they shoved 4 of us in the back of 1 police car (u would think they would have comfortably put us in 2 cars atleat) and drove us to the salmiya police station where we sat doing nothing for like 4 hours before they let us go.
August 24th, 2005 at 11:24 am
lol! Dude, u had not one, but TWO Eastern European girls! Im sure that was the most action some of these guys had in weeks ;P Decided to share the fun, let everyone they know see the girls! lol, pathetic walla!

Kuwaitism,
if you do not see a problem in this at all, and suggest that “but honestly, what harm is there in that?”, espicially since the name tag was there .. then i see u unfit to take it upon yourself to comment on any local event, whether it is given a positive remark or that of a “etfashlek” nature
i really wish you would take the time to think about this like a mature grown-up again, and probably foresee the results have they not dealt with the matter through such conduct
August 24th, 2005 at 3:58 pm
temetwir,
“espicially since the name tag was there .. then i see u unfit to take it upon yourself to comment on any local event, whether it is given a positive remark or that of a “etfashlek” nature”
Ok khalaas ill close the blog tomorrow and will never discuss anything to do with Kuwait every again.
Thanks for passing by.
August 24th, 2005 at 4:23 pm
What will you discuss then? cheese?
August 24th, 2005 at 4:33 pm
hmmmm…purg, cheese….and sushi? But not on blog since I guess I have no right to discuss anything! So ill call u and discuss different kinds of cheese and sushi everyday, deal? ;P
August 24th, 2005 at 4:37 pm
we in kuwait have started a tradition of honoring those who do their work
why ? i have no idea
one example is the people in the patriot squad drop a scud ( basicly what they are trained and paid to do ) and they get honors and money
August 24th, 2005 at 4:41 pm
forza, chan zaaain its just that! We’re honoring ppl who did a really simple and unimportant thing! More publicity to this case than important drug cases and terrorism! Just think about the whole situation, its really silly!
August 24th, 2005 at 5:13 pm
Y3neee all this is SOO stupid and really pathetic,,,i mean come on if it were really a policeman..Can’t a policeman spice up his love life??!?!!?!? khalooh kaifa….:P
August 24th, 2005 at 5:21 pm
I am only willing to discuss cheese, sushi is something I cannot talk about because of my history.
August 24th, 2005 at 5:30 pm
joudz, lol 7ilwa spicing up his love life! But taking things seriously, the guy was stupid in taking the video and not respecting the unifrom he represents. Ya3ny he deserves to be punished o khalaas. Whats ridiculous is this attention and reaction from the ministry chinna this clip will destory the country ;P
Purg, 3indy lik nice sushi related post for tomorrow
August 24th, 2005 at 5:33 pm
Q, yess thats what i meant y3nee mala daa3y all that commotion just punish the guy ou khalasna …why all the media involved? i just find that so pathetic..ou its nothing but legafa.
August 24th, 2005 at 6:41 pm
but she’s only dancing, not even a slutty dance. well, not too slutty anyway. so the problem is descerating the uniform, not the dance per se, right? oh well, our police force does enough in that regard anyway.
but since u can’t talk about these issues Q, tell me this: why can’t i read the arabic font after i click on comments? but then i can read it again when i click on post comment? (if you can’t answer that question then it’s cheese and sushi again. but then again i don’t like raw meat anyway, so the sushi i do like aint no sushi afterall)
and im blabbering
August 24th, 2005 at 7:59 pm
Kuwaitism,
what you have quoted of my comment goes only to show that you have not even understood what i was trying to say
you are addressing the media coverage, i am trying to bring to your attention the problem itself, not how it was presented and/or in what method it reached you
be that as it may, in no way did i mean to offend you, but since that was your reply i think i can tell you’re pretty clueless yourself on what you want to propose on your space
only know that the fashion with which you have employed your response(s) in does nothing but insult your own intelligence
August 24th, 2005 at 8:13 pm
Q, it is simply this:
They are trying to bestow a halo of importance to what they discarded 15 years ago. So deep inside they know they are not real men, and by protecting the very uniform they shamed, they want to prove the opposite.
Bas 3ala mino

Just heard about this via LINGUIST. The bit that intrigued me is the suggestion that machines can measure how drunk you are based on prosody alone.
