I saw this ad today at the airport…..
Now I know Kuwait is a dry country, but this is going a bit too far, no?!
Is alcohol in perfumes also considered 7araam? What about alcohol in medicine? Or do they think people drink this stuff?? Or are some people alergic to alcohol when its in a spray?
…..I’m confused, I don’t get it!

Q/ Abu 7afs: there are people who do drink perfumes for their alcoholic content, and there are others who have sensitive skins that cannot tolerate alcohol.
It is definitely not 7aram to have alcohol in fragrances and medicines.
And you are more than confused; you suffer from multiple-personality disorder

Purg/shosho - Ur 45 min delay for ur second comment was a nice try, but still ur the first person to comment twice, coincidence? I think not! ;P
And seriously, u think they had that sentence bcz of the skins and drinking? If u look at the add, they really stress that line more than slogan, which makes it funnier!

Maybe people buy this and consider it as a spray “AND” a drink

Oh nooo Q no its not that at all… fe fatwa that you can’t pray with athwab il 9alat or sejadat al 9alat with perfums which mostly contain alcohol ..thats why
dont be confused.
Its just this fatwa.3ashan chithy you see them ye3a6roon nafs;houm with rose water (may ward) before praying …because they say you should pray clean and trendy better than the way you meet your friends.
i hope you got what i mean.
Bless your heart.

JA….thanks for the explanation!
I never heard this fatwa b4, hence my confusion!
Knowing that now, then it makes good sense, and good marketing! Even if it smells like old banana peels, they r guaranteed a market!

this is the way to capitalize on the religious folk; we’ve got islamic banks, islamic real estate co.s, might as well have islamic soap….this is no longer a religion it is a marketing machine

It sells my friend. Sells big time.
Mix up whatever you want and have a sticker on it with that disclaimer. I’ll repeat 7moud Al6awash’s mixture:
بيض نمل وعيون حيايا ومنقار هدهد يتيم
You’ll make yourself some money.

it has nothing to do with all of that its just that alchole is bad for the skin thats why and most product now r without alchole got it!
August 23rd, 2005 at 8:47 am
In the far east countries and south Asian countries .. Who are poor in Islamic knowledge they think that alcohol is forbidden in any thing …
So any think manufactured there will have the same ad.
I have seen a Water with a halal ad on it in Malaysia
August 23rd, 2005 at 10:37 am
Ok, so far Ive gotten that its a fatwa, or bcz ppl drink it, or bcz its bad for the skin….
Im sure one of those or even a combination must be right, but u see why I was confused??
MC, shako “bs taboon ay shay 3ashan u go against the flow !”
what flow? what shay? its an ad that didnt make sense, and I asked, and I got many different answers, which means that other ppl might be confused about putting that sentence in the ad.

Jandeef,
7ilwa..
Q,
I’ve seen this comment on other brands too, I think they’re targeting Salafis. My guess is that what they’re going for is a customer that would rather use something that doesn’t contain alcohol than something that does.. I think they target their ignorance..
I beg to disagree, Kuwait is anything but dry
August 23rd, 2005 at 2:48 pm
why do you make everything into a salafi movement or a backward islamic stunt to attract ppl to buy products in order to fund terrorists that use islam as an excuse to blow the shit out of ppl?
If you are really muslim and have read a little bit of the quran you would know that anything containing alcohol to a certain degree can not be on your skin whilst praying. and ROFL @ person who prays with nail polish and makeup. why pray ? And before you go and say something stupid like im some sort of salafi or backward islamist. Please.. I just know the facts of my religion.
August 23rd, 2005 at 3:34 pm
fatality, yes ur right, ur the only muslim here, we’re all ignorant ppl who know nothing about Islam. Thanks for passing by.
August 23rd, 2005 at 3:56 pm
What I said was for you. And miss nail polish while praying.
August 23rd, 2005 at 5:16 pm
fatality, you are a fatal mistake

لاتستغرب من المخلوق الكويتي يسوي كل شي .. انا شفت بعيني شغله مو مصدقها ليلحين .. واحد جدامي رش “بف باف” داخل قوطي على روب واكله!!!!!
August 23rd, 2005 at 10:47 pm
This reminds me of the Mecca Cola ad campaign: Drink with Conscience,or wake up you concience…madri something rediculous like that. As my fellow bloggers said its just a marketing tool where religion is being exploited.

Panda, go hug a tree.
August 23rd, 2005 at 11:24 pm
interesting argument. good thing it’s in cyberworld, there’d be swearing and throwing waterglasses at each other if it were face-to-face.
oh and that perfume bottle’s so damn ugly.
