I have a serious request and suggestion for the betterment of hygiene in our society as a whole!
PLEASE have seperate toilets dedicated to mosques or prayer rooms, especially in public places!! I know this usually is the case, but sometimes certain places make a big difference!
Today, at marina mall, I went to the toilet to wash my hands. As soon as I entered, I was shocked to see one person with this his leg up to his knee inside the sink!! The other guy next to him was emptying his nose with such force that I was expecting his brains to start coming out of his nose too!!
If that wasn’t disgusting enough, both of them were spilling water all over the place from their hands, legs, face, and everything else! It was basically like someone held a water hose and just went crazy spraynig it everywhere!
Now, imagine if I was a foreign tourist coming to Kuwait, one of the places I would go for lunch would be marina mall, and have lunch at one of the many restaurants at the crescent overlooking the beautiful marina view.
Then, I go into a toilet, and see what looks like a hippo war going on!
Beautiful, no?
It really is not that hard, just add a couple of sinks near the prayer room!

Hi Q..I was totally cracking up when i read your post, cuz the same thing happens in the ladies rooms also…LOL! Yes we definitely need to raise this issue to the proper authorities..it’s a very uncivilized sight to witness.

I believe form should follow function. There needs to a be a architectural renaissance in which people realize the true needs of a Kuwaiti/Islamic culture with a western influence.
e.g. a separate prayer area with its own sinks.

“Oh no! Q is bothered by the holy cleansing! How can such a beautiful daily sacred event cause so much displeasure to the eyes of the faithful?! He must be with the devil! The horror! Kaaafirrrr!”
I agree with you, there should be toilets and then there should be separate washrooms too.

I dunno about that but the overall hygiene of public bathrooms should be looked at more seriously.

Why do u worry about what the foreigners r going to see or say? I agree this issue needs to be dealt with but what i’ve seen in the States and Europe and its far worse! U find this kind of behavior everywhere, why should it be any different just becoz it was an Arab?

that is what I mean exactly, not first time, you go around and “try” to find these things.

Hey Q, I totally agree with you.. Maybe it “kinda” makes it okay since we’re in Kuwait and people are more familiar with the “wothou2″ procedure, However, Imagine this.. in one of the biggest hotels in the states, when it was the wi7da thingy… People went INSANE.. I really respect that people should do “wothou2″ in order to pray, I myself do pray, bess ye3ni.. they can do it in a less messy way.. especially when people around dont even know wut the hell ur doing! for them, u’re only one creapy dude trying to washup in a Hotel sink and dripping water all over the place..
