It blows my mind how yawning is contagious! If someone yawns near u and u dont see them, nothing happens, if someone is 50 meters away and u see them yawning, u have to yawn!!!! If someone yawns on tv u dont get it though!
Its one of those things that drives me crazy! It makes no sense! Why does it happen?? Does the same thing happen to animals? And is it contagious from animals to humans or vice versa??!!?

Alot was discussed on this blog about Mohammed AlJasem’s articles and his motives for writing them.
I left it for a while because I thought I linked to him more than enough times, and didn’t think I would be doing it again!
But his newest article is by far the strongest article and the most direct!
I agree with him in being impressed with the fact that his site has not been blocked yet! Its good PR and shows Kuwait as a place of free speech compared to anywhere else in the region!

When I read this on Friday, I couldn’t stop thinking about how stupid this issue is.
Then I decided to look for the original fatwa, because this doesn’t really sound realistic at all!
I’m glad I looked for it, because I honestly laughed alot when I found it! This great article comes from Elaph, which got it from the Saudi newspaper, AlWatan. I can’t even comment on this!

أبها: الوطن:
حصلت “الوطن” على نص فتوى منسوبة إلى عدد من المشايخ، تحرم لعب كرة القدم إلا بتوافر عدد من الشروط، أهمها أن يرتدي اللاعبون ثوب النوم خلال ممارسة اللعبة، وأن يلعبوا ثلاثة أشواط. وحرمت الفتوى، التي نشرت بأحد مواقع “الإنترنت” في ربيع الثاني عام 1423هـ، وجود حكم أو جمهور خلال المباراة. وأكدت على ضرورة بصق اللاعبين في وجه زميلهم الهداف الذي يعبر عن سعادته عند إحرازه هدفا. وبررت الفتوى الغريبة ذلك بعدم التشبه بالكفار.
وفيما يلي نص الفتوى، التي أثرت في بعض الشباب، ودفعتهم للانقطاع عن ممارسة كرة القدم:
أولاً: تلعبون الكرة بدون الخطوط الأربعة لأنها من صنيع الكفار والقانون الدولي لكرة القدم الذي أمر بوضعها ورسمها عند اللعب بالكرة. ثانياً: ألفاظ القانون الدولي الذي وضعه الكفار والمشركين كالفاول والبلنتي والكورنر والقُول والآوت كل هذه الألفاظ وغيرها تُترك ولا تقال. ومَنْ قالها منكم يُؤدب ويُزجر ويُخرج من اللعب. ويقال له علانية: إنك قد تشبهت بالكفار والمشركين، وهذا حرام عليك.
ثالثاً: من سقط منكم أثناء اللعب وكسرت يده أو قدمه أو مست الكرة يده فلا يقال فاول ولا يُوقف اللعب من أجل سقوطه، ولا يعطى من كسره وأسقطه ورقة صفراء ولا حمراء.. بل الأمر لتحكيم الشرع عند الكسور والجروح، فيأخذ اللاعب المكسور حقه الشرعي كما في القرآن وأنتم يجب عليكم أن تشهدوا معه على أن فلاناً تعمد كسره.
رابعاً: لا تُوافقوا الكفار واليهود والنصارى وخاصة أمريكا الخبيثة بالعدد. بمعنى ألا تلعبوا أحد عشر شخصاً. بل تزيدون على هذا العدد أو تقلُّون.
خامساً: تلعبون بثيابكم أو ثياب النوم وغيرها، بدون السراويل الملونة والفنايل المرقمة حيث إن السراويل والفنايل ليست من ملابس أهل الإسلام بل هي ملابس الكفار والغرب فإياك والتشبه بلباسهم.
سادساً: أن يُقصد من لعبكم بالكرة إذا طبقتم الشروط والضوابط تقوية البدن بنية الجهاد في سبيل الله تعالى والاستعداد له في وقتٍ يُنادى للجهاد. لا لضياع الأوقات والأعمار والفرح بالفوز المزعوم.
سابعاً: لاتجعلوا وقت لعبكم [45 دقيقة]، كما هو الوقت المرسوم عند اليهود والنصارى وجميع دول الكفر والإلحاد وكذا هو الوقت المعمول به عند نوادي الضلال، فعليكم بمخالفة الكفار والفساق وعدم مشابهتم بشيء.
ثامناً: لا تلعبوا على مدار شوطين، بل شوطاً واحداً كما تسمونه، أو ثلاثة أشواط حتى تتم مخالفتكم للكفار والمشركين والفساق والعصاة.
تاسعاً: إذا لم يغلب أحدكم الآخر وينتصر عليه كما تسمونه ويُدخل الجلد بين الأخشاب أو الأحجار، فلا تضعوا وقتاً (إضافياً) أو (بلنتيات) حتى يحصل الفوز، لا، بل انصرفوا مباشرة إذ الفوز بهذه الطريقة هو عين التشبه بالكفار وهو عين تطبيق القانون الدولي لكرة القدم.
عاشراً: إذا لعبتم الكرة فلا تضعوا أثناء لعبكم شخصاً يتابعكم تسمونه حكماً، إذ بعد إلغاء القوانين الدولية كالفاول والبلنتي والكورنر وغيرها يكون وجوده لا داعي له. بل وجوده تشبه بالكفار وباليهود والنصارى ووجوده طاعة في تنفيذ القانون الدولي.
الحادي عشر: لا يجتمع عليكم أثناء لعبكم مجموعة من الشباب لينظروا إليكم، إذ أنتم اجتمعتم من أجل الرياضة وتقوية أبدانكم كما تزعمون، فلماذا هؤلاء ينظرون إليكم. فإما أن تجعلوهم يشاركونكم في تقوية الأبدان والاستعداد للجهاد كما تزعمون، وإما أن تقولوا لهم اذهبوا للدعوة إلى الله تعالى ومتابعة المنكرات في الأسواق والصحف ودعونا نقوي أبداننا.
الثاني عشر: إذا فرغتم من اللعب بالكرة فإياكم أن تتحدثوا عن لعبكم، وأننا أحسن لعباً من الخصم الآخر، أو أن فلاناً يُحسن اللعب وهكذا. بل يكون همكم وحديثكم عن أبدانكم وقوتها وعضلاتها، وأننا ما لعبنا إلا لقصد التدرب على الجري والكرّ والفرّ استعداداً للجهاد في سبيل الله تعالى.
الثالث عشر: من أدخل الكرة منكم بين الأخشاب أو الحديد ثم أخذ يجري لكي يتبعه أصحابه ويُعانقوه كما يُفعل باللاعب في أمريكا وفرنسا، فهذا يُبصق في وجهه ويُؤدب ويزجر، إذ ما علاقة الفرح والمعانقة والتقبيل بالرياضة البدنية التي تدعونها.
الرابع عشر: الأخشاب أو الحدائد الثلاث التي تضعونها لتدخل الكرة فيها ينبغي أن تجعلوها خشبتين بدلاً من ثلاثة، بمعنى أنكم تنـزعون الخشبة أو الحديدة الفوقية، وكذلك تُنقصون من ارتفاع الأخشاب أو الحديد حتى لا تشبه طريقة الكفار وحتى تتم مخالفة القانون الدولي الطاغوتي لنظام كرة القدم.
الخامس عشر: لا تجعلوا ما يسمى بـ (الاحتياط) وهو ما إذا تعثّر أحدكم أدخلتم بدلاً عنه. إذ هذا هو صنيع الكفار في أمريكا وغيرها.
هذه بعض الشروط والضوابط، حتى لا يقع شباب الصحوة في التشبه بالكفار والمشركين في لعبهم بالكرة. وأنا أعلم أن هذه الشروط والضوابط لن يُطبقها إلا الصادق من شباب الصحوة والذي يخشى أن يموت وهو قد تشبه باليهود والنصارى والكفار وسعى إلى التحاكم إلى القانون الدولي بدلاً من القرآن عند الكسور والجروح من حيث لا يشعر. بل وتشبه بأمريكا الذي يصرح ببغضها وعداوتها ليلاً ونهاراً لأن التشبه بأعداء الدين وتقليدهم من ضعف توحيد العبد لربه.
ولست هنا أدعو إلى تطبيق هذه الشروط والضوابط ثم اللعب بالكرة، ولكن هذا لمن لا تسعه الرياضات الشرعية التي سبق ذكرها، وإلا فالمؤمن الصادق يكفيه ما ذكرنا من الأدلة النقلية والعقلية على أن اللعب بالكرة تشبه صريح لاغبار عليه، وأن العبث بها يزلزل بُغض الكفار من القلوب، لكن شباب الصحوة يحسبون الأمر مجرد لعب ومرح (وتحسبونه هيناً وهو عند الله عظيم….) فياللحسرة لمن مات وهو يلعب كرة القدم على نظام القانون الدولي الذي وضعته دول الكفر وعلى رأسها أمريكا قاتلها الله.
وأخيراً أسأل الله عز وجل أن ينفع بهذه الرسالة وأن يجعلها نافعة لشباب الصحوة وغيرهم.
ونسأله جل شأنه أن يُرينا الحق حقاً ويرزقنا اتباعه وأن يرينا الباطل باطلاً ويرزقنا اجتنابه. اللهم آمي

I nearly forgot about to post the results of this survey! Japan mafia gang ‘names new head’
Japan’s largest organised crime syndicate, the Yamaguchi-gumi, is reported to have appointed a new head.
Sixty-three-year-old Kenichi Shinoda was named as the new leader during a ceremony in the western town of Kobe, the Kyodo news agency said.
The change is believed to be the first shift in the group for 16 years. Police could not confirm the report.
The Yamaguchi-gumi is thought to have some 40,000 members, almost half of Japan’s total number of gangsters.
Gang members reportedly exchanged cups of sake during the handover to symbolise the creation of family bonds.
Kyodo reports that Mr Shinoda, who spent 13 years in jail for murdering a rival gang boss with a sword, will lead one of the most prominent crime syndicates in the country.
Although police have tried to crack down on the underworld gangs, Japan’s yakuza - or mafia - remain among the world’s richest, correspondents say.

First of all, this piece of news is definitely the most interesting Ive read in a while! It’s like a movie script, or something out of a novel! Especially the parts about the rituals in the handover and the new boss’s history, spending 13 years in jail for murdering a rival gang boss with a sword!! How Tarantino is the whole thing?!
Second of all, does this mafia send a press release to the newspaper and agencies announcing the change?! Is there some sort of press conference?!

This piece of news comes from today’s AlQabas newspaper regarding the number of lawsuits filed against the Ministry of Health -
Basically, there have been 300 lawsuits filed against the Ministry of Health and its doctors in the past 3 years, which is an average of 100 per year. I really don’t know if this number is considered to be a high one when compared to other countries, especially when we put in mind the number of surgeries that are performed in all the government hospitals.
At first I was interested in reading the article because it was on the front page and because it doesn’t tell the reader that it is in the span of 3 years!
For this information to be useful, the reader needs some other information, such as -
In short, it is hard to take much out of that article in my opinion!
I have often heard that the level of care provided by the government hospitals is really good and is significantly better than what is provided in private hospitals in this country. I’m not quite sure about this, but I have been told this from people who are involved in the medical field from both the private and the government hospitals.

You all heard about the Virgin Mary toast last year, which was basically someone claiming that a woman’s face appeared on a peice of toast, and they decided that it was a sign from God, and that it was the Virgin Mary. Then they sold it on ebay! So, basically, I think its a scam.
Now, I have something REAL, and it must be a sign!
How about that?! I got a map of Kuwait made out of salmon in my sushi!!That has to be the coolest and weirdest thing Ive seen while eating, and had to take a picture of it!
A few seconds later, I ate it! So Kuwait is literally is IN me!

When I first read about the bluetooth clip of a girl dancing in the uniform, I thought to myself, “hehe, silly!”
Then I read that there was a special task force formed to go and capture the people involved in this clip. I started to think, “hmmm….its just a clip of a girl dancing in a uniform, whats the big deal??”
Then I read that the Minister of Interior was personally involved in this ‘case’ and that they were going to do all it takes to find these people! Now Im starting to think, “wait, there must be more to this clip than just dancing, I gotta check it out! Why would the Minister himself put himself in charge of this unless its a matter of national security, right?”
Then I saw the clip thanks to Mark. I checked it out, it was absolutely stupid and nothing to it! So I started thinking, “it must be because of summertime, and maybe all the criminals decided to take a vacation so there’s nothing bad happening in Kuwait, this must be the worst thing happening at the moment!”
Then, I read this yesterday, from AlWatan newspaper -

Special task force, the minister is involved, and now a 7afl takreem for the people were involved?!? I don’t remember this much attention on the HUGE shipment of herroine found in Kuwait last week (the biggest ever)! Even the media coverage was NOTHING compared to this clip!
Anyone can go to the soug and buy a police uniform! So a guy films a girl dancing in a police uniform, WHATS THE BIG DEAL?!? Im sure its illegal, but honestly, what harm is there in that? The guy who did that is stupid and should be punished, and thats the end of it!
Speaking of the guy, I heard that he actually turned himself in. He was caught because his name was zoomed in to on the camera while the girl was dancing in one angle (thanks for the info wer3y). Soooo, if thats true, whats with the takreem? what was there to do in the case anyway?!
In the past few years, you have to admire all the work that has been done by the ministry and the people there, but Im sure there is something more important than a girl dancing in a police suit to occupy the minister and ministry!?

Thanks to a relative of mine, Alla isaam7a, I am totally hooked to this game called World of Warcraft. He suggested to me when I asked him about a good game, and since day one, I have been addicted!
I have always been a big fan of strategy and role playing games like Civilization and Civilization II, but never liked the shoot-em ups like Doom. So when he told me about this game, I was pretty sure I wont like it bcz I thought it was basically a big online multiplayer fight. I was wrong. Very wrong!
I wont get into the game too much, but basically, Blizzard (the creators of the game), created an online world where u create ur own character and interact with all the other players throughout the game. It blew my mind when I first tried it out as to how the game does not really follow a certain path, but u create it all and its all human based. Also, it does not end, there is no final goal. U can go on forever, and Ive met people in the game who’ve been playing for more than a year.
Anyway, thats not my point. What shocked me was when I read this article about multiplayer gaming, and more specifically, World of Warcraft. Some interesting information -
1) There are two million subscribers to that game, and its not even released in China yet!! That is just incredible!!
2) “Two million subscribers guarantees Blizzard a monthly income of around $3m, or $36m yearly, and that’s before you account for their cut of the retail box’s face price, and whatever expansions may come.”
This is definitely the future of gaming! What a difference between this and between the days of pacman and donkeykong!
The game is sold in Virgin by the way if anyone is interested!

I saw this ad today at the airport…..
Now I know Kuwait is a dry country, but this is going a bit too far, no?!
Is alcohol in perfumes also considered 7araam? What about alcohol in medicine? Or do they think people drink this stuff?? Or are some people alergic to alcohol when its in a spray?
