Continuing with the Kuwaitism market research polls, this time it will be something totally different than the first edition.
In this poll, I would like to know people’s opinions on Kuwaiti brands. Which of the following companies has the strongest Kuwaiti brand? There is no specific criteria or specifications, its just down to what you think.
Then I would like to know why you chose that company.
If you vote “Other”, please specify company name in comments section

Ok, but why?

I feel that if i voted for NBK it would be a biased decision on my part because it’s been drilled in our heads as kids that NBK is the best bank. Even tho they do have a strong brand they are cheap.
MTC, on the other hand, sponsors many events and has high brand awareness campaigns through out the year. You get more support from MTC than NBK.

Ok, thx for your explanation T69
I would like whoever votes “other” to write the company’s name here in the comments section plz!

i think wataniya is working hard to catch up , thats why i see it more than MTC
most of us know MTC when they were the only company on the market , and they were the cool thing

I think both NBK and MTC are strong, and stock figures show this.
But I still hate both of their websites!

people plz no emotions
i think nbk is the STRONGEST as they had done a good job in ‘catching’ the new generation (im talking ’bout my time). I remember the camel where i used to keep in my money, and the halla halla zainaa thing, they have lots of branches in the world.

I picked NBK. Maybe it’s true we grew up seeing the Camel and singing “Hala Hala Zaina.” My perception how ever got even stronger about them last summer when I opened an account. The first time in my entire life I enjoy something involving paperwork!
long-time childhood brand + great service = magic formula for customer loyalty i guess.

I voted for MTC. They are all over Kuwait and ppl recognize them, and as Tequila said that they usually like sponsoring events….they are branding themselves in people’s minds. However, I think that their advertising design is cheap. They should change their ads now..I think it’s about time since its getting old!
July 31st, 2005 at 2:40 pm
just another question…don’t you think that now that NBK just added that red line under their old blue logo (camel)…they are competing with the same brand colors of MTC? Hmmmm
July 31st, 2005 at 2:54 pm
NBK maybe the biggest bank, but Gulf Bank has done a much much better job with managing their brand
July 31st, 2005 at 2:55 pm
NBK is also the most profitable because they hate spending money! Fucking cheapskates!

I skimmed the list and had a visual epiphany: a camel and a big red slanted ‘W’….
July 31st, 2005 at 4:02 pm
I CAN’T BELIEVE YOU DID NOT INCLUDE KDD!
July 31st, 2005 at 4:34 pm
i choose MTC ‘cuz of what teauila said & im already been & this orginzation for 4 years ‘n’ i witnessed the devolpment from the insaide ..
July 31st, 2005 at 5:05 pm
Definitly NBK, I’m loyal client.
Forget Wataniya they tried to steel MTC’s red logo when the latter joined Vodafone. That made me put an X on them.
PWC’s bussiness just started gaining momentum in the past couple of years so you cant really compare it with the long history of the other companies.

just to let you know I can rig the vote.

i deal with both but i choosed nbk over mtc because i think nbk ads are ellegant. Mtc ads on the other hand not only ”maleqeen” but alsoare low IQ honestly who would be impressed by the stupid marid pic that we see daily on the buses or the malaqa ”fa6oom basti`3l 3layha msgat” TV advertisement?!

Q.. I voted NBK
But I think Alghanim has great potential of becoming a leading brand if they really take care of it.

Its the damn Camel.

Gourmet
NBK had some elegant ads recently, and then they moved to the bland ones now with the yellow circles. Today I saw one on the streets for their call center service and it was all yellow!!
Why yellow? And how could they ruin their brand identity like that??
August 1st, 2005 at 12:27 pm
urgh don’t remind me of the yellow circle.. al-waseet style..
