Everyone has gone through the google maps thing, which is a really cool way to check out ur neighbourhood from a satellite view!
Of course after checking on every house, and looking at how cool all swimming pools look from above, I started checking out the coastal area all over Kuwait.
Look at these pictures, what the hell is this stuff that is being dumped into the sea?!?
These pictures are from different places, first is from the Fahaheel area, second is a bit more south, and the third one with the smoke and factories is near Sabbiya I think…!?

Unfortunately, zooming into the Shwaikh area near the port was not available, I would absolutely love to see the stuff being dumped there…..

the problem is that Kuwait Bay is shallow, and we have Doha, Sabbiya & Shuwaikh. All are dumbing ‘God knows what’ in the bay, then when there’s a fish massacre (see: nofooq) they bring experts from allover the word to study the case.
I ask Green Peace to make a visit & address the problem.

Stop blaming everything on Sadam! We r the reason for many of our diseases

I agree with Zort! Saddam is not to blame! You could blame him a little but the final blame should be against those in charge of the “Majari”, ports, huge firms that dump their leftovers into the water!

Mobi, I know I wouldve loved to see a view from above of that dumping!!
forza, u didnt get affected by radioactive rays and got some super powers? ;P
3abdrabna, I know its scary!
iDip, u think anyone really would take an extra step to create some buzz about this? Its been going on for years and the nofooq is just an example of weird things that happen ‘for no reason’, or bcz of ‘the hot weather’, chinna i7na used to switzerland weather!
Zort and Stallion, where did you guys bring Sadam from in this issue? I have pictures showing what WE are doing to our waters!
3abd, sa7 ilsaanik very nicely said ya36eek il3aafya!
WL, how very sadly true!

I know it’s us who are polluting our water but since Zort brought Saddam into the picture I just wanted to say that it’s not Saddam’s fault like Zort put it but it’s ours! :oP

That is awsome, though a note on checking out the maps, I seem to have trouble going straight to the maximum zoom on kuwait city, I have to start out zoomed out in statalite mode then gradually zoom in, hope this helps anyone with the same issue..
as for the environmental concerns, it is still not too late to start caring for the environment as it is not yet completely devastated, I do wonder what the Kuwait EPA is doing about this and how seriously is their work taken…
cheers

[…] After the mysterious dead fish incident a couple of years ago, and the latest reports of our local fish being cancerous, and looking at some pictures of what is being dumped in our sea continuously, this is a very serious issue that will only get worse in Kuwait if we dont start implementing some drastic measures! I know, it’s really freaky. Well for starters, we should change some of our habits. For almost a year, I don’t turn my lights on at night when am watching tv or reading, been using a candle or two (not only does it save energy, it actually gives a nice cozy ambience) and surprisingly enough light to read. When brushing teeth, turn the water off and turn it on only when you need it, instead of keeping it running. You dont even really need to have on on full blast as well. Some thoughts to help
