After Mohammed AlJasem’s first article, he wrote a second article much more critical of Sabah AlAhmad’s role in the country and his growing power.
His third and latest article continues his trend of criticizing Sabah AlAhmad’s strength.
I recommend reading all three. But the point of my post is to know what direction is he going towards? and why?
His problems with Sabah AlAhmad have been publicly known since his days as editor in chief of AlWatan newspaper.
Does he want to be the hero? Nobody else has been as critical to the prime minister as he has, so swimming against the tide will definitely help make a name for himself politically as a ‘voice of the people’.
But for a man who was paid more than 10,000KD a month as a salary from someone as contrevertial as Ali AlKhalifa, the owner of AlWatan, a member of the royal family, and someone with a really nasty reputation full of corruption from his days as minister.
So, after getting the boot from AlWatan and being replaced by Ali AlKhalifa’s son, now all of a sudden he is the most critical person of the royal family.
Does he want to annoy Sabah AlAhmad and test his limits to become some sort of hero if they tried to quiet him? Is he testing Sabah AlAhmad and seeing what he might be offered to stop (such as a wazara)? Is he betting on someone other than Sabah AlAhmad and hopes to be on top if such a thing happens? Or he just trying to change the really bad reputation he got from his days at AlWatan for many years??
It really is confusing, and ironic, to see him write all that! And who exactly are the shabaaab he keeps talking about?! Could it be the same shabaab who ousted him from his position?
I’d love to know what you guys think about this recent revelation by Mr. AlJasem?!

I’d say he found himself a new ally..
Ally?
More like another Sabahi boss.
Once corrupt, always corrupt.
And I hope his stunt isn’t fooling anyone.
Q,
I was off to bed and now you got me ‘thinking’..

i would say he is getting paid by one party in the family to piss off another part
a lot know about what happen in the family , most of what he say isn’t new
its one party , button pushing him to have some pressure on shiek sabah alahmad , maybe you think he isn’t much of pressure but the idea isn’t how pressure there is , its how many parties are doing it

7atta low Aljasim was still in charge in Alwatan, fee omha khair la t7u6 a picture of someone with the caliper of Abdulaziz Alsagur allah yer7uma! Just imagine one newspaper not posting his picture or not writing something about him. Basically it would be singling itself out in a bad way.
Q .. I really can’t comprehend where he’s going. But it feels so good to read the article while ignoring the author’s name for a second. Try it, you’ll really enjoy it.
As Shurouq said, once corrupt, always corrupt. So I’d lean more towards the theory that he’s becoming another Al-Sabah branch’s puppet.

Not that anyone cares.. but when Abdul-Aziz Al-Sager (RIP) passed away, Al-Anbaa didn’t even mention it. All because of the long-standing feud between them
Anyway, Al-Jassem’s motives are indeed suspect.. but we’re all playing “shoot the messenger”. I don’t really care what he’s thinking, the undeniable truth is that he is 100% CORRECT!

Its obvious why he is doing this…if you read the first article..the good Sheik and bad Sheik argument, and how Kuwait throughout history was ruled by two Sheiks at the same time. He is against Sabah Al-Ahmads one Sheik for everything, and mentioned Salem Al-Ali as someone who can balance this and return things the way they should be.
Of course Salem Al-Ali wants his share of attention and he got it, but now he wants more power and control too. Al-Jasem is trying to show that people are worried about the one man rule too and like to see Saba7 Alhmad share his powers with other more people-friendly Sheiks.
The Syria reference is clear…we know what happend between Hafiz Al Asad and his brother Ref3at.

May I remind everyone of THIS BOOK?
It was banned in Kuwait when he wrote it in 1992, and I think it still is. He wrote it before he joined Al-Watan

whatever his reasons may be, he obviously just wants a little attention…so he’s rocking the boat a bit…since no one else seems to be doing it…he’ll be in the spot light for awhile, even if it is a dim spotlight. as for the three scenarios you gave Q, i admire your analysis. they all seem very probable

Many views from the comments seem to lean towards thinking that he is now mad3oom by another party within the royal family to do this….very interesting!
Jandeef, what I was referring to was not the picture of alla yir7uma Abdulaziz AlSagir, I was refering to the 2 page interview with Mohammed! Thats the interesting part! And I totally agree with you about enjoying when ignoring the author’s name!
Zaydoun, he is definitely correct in almost everything he said! But you know the feeling when u should feel good but you dont?! Thats what I get when reading these articles!
BoJaij I think ur explanation makes the most sense to be honest!
Reema, ma ti6anazt, read what I said.
Kuwaitigirl, how long do u think this spotlight will last? and thx
bader, i7timaal jaayiz jiddan!
Nazzaal, ana ma3aak 100% billy itgoola 3an this post. Bes this post is dedicated to trying to know the reasons behind the writing, not discussing the writings themselves! ilsabab inna ilmawthoo3 nafsa moo ohwa niq6at il7uwaar howa inna fee haatha ilpost, kaan ilmafrooth ingha6y illy gaala! I hope Im making sense here!?
and about the question marks, I have no idea, bes tawa saar, gabil kaan zain!

we shouldn’t care much about the motives aljasem has wrote the article for, what we should foucs on is the information its providing. this persone (aljasem) had known these people and is deep in politics so from my point of view i would consider thes information important and realistic. the problem with us arabs is that when ever we are faced with something we don’t like we take it to a personal level… he did she said… the question we should ask our selfs.. is the information true?? then act upon them… thank you…

Although I find his articles soothing, and agree with most of it. But I can’t deny that “the motive” in his case is very important to his credibility. I just can’t trust the guy. May be we only have to wait and see what is his real motive.
Nevertheless; I find his articles as a breeze in the smoke (ignoring his name off course)
