Since Ive been traveling ALOT the past couple of weeks (4 trips, 7 different stops), I cant not write this. They tried the new Airbus A380 yesterday for the first time! We need these babies here in Kuwait for flights to Dubai!!!
Nice, 555 passengers, two floors! You know what I would love to see in airplanes? Two things….
- Internet connections - The flight will seem ALOT shorter if you had a chance to surf the net from up in the air, right?? I know Lufthansa are introducing this late this year, but why the delay?? Its something so obvious, it shouldve been there a long time ago!
- Casinos in the sky - Now with two floors, this would make time go quicker, and also make the flights more fun! Dont forget that it would be a huge money maker for the airlines themselves!!
One thing I like in airplanes so far is the online entertainment system in Emirates flights, I always play the trivia game, where you compete with other passengers in a knowledge trivia game! It’s fun…..but primitive to what should be on planes now, no?

Im up for Casinos onboard. Thinking about it, how does that work with regards to gaming licensing? Does it depend who’s airspace you are in? Or does it mean you can do what you want at 30,000 ft and no law applies? Or would the law of the nation in which the Airline is incoporated apply to the flight?
What I think they should also add is:
1) Massage cubicles
3) Have a bar that you can stand up/sit down in (of course drinks here would be purchased! Kaaching!
2) Network games! Playing Doom III against the guy with the noisy kid screaming could be fun
4) Have a viewing station where they have telescopes so you can look above the aircraft into space! The picture would be so clear since you would be in the upper atmosphere
5) Even have exercise machines, for ppl who want to stretch!
One thing that they could do these days, is DAMPEN that cabin air! Im sure they could use humidifiers to ass some moisture to it, it would make you feel so much better during and after… cheapos.
Then again with oil hovering above $50 per barrel, low-cost carriers eating up market share, these big carriers need to squeeze all the margins they can.
So why not try changing their strategy. Make the flying experience more enjoyable, but charge people extra for it. You could easily squeeze an extra 20KD to 30KD from each passenger using onboard facilities (masssage, bar, network games etc) and multiply that by 555 gives you 11,100 KD to 16,650 KD which would easily cover ALL your staff salaries
that doesnt include the casino

1) Not many airports can handle the giants, logistically.
2) The fuel costs associated with these planes is large
3) 550 passengers in one plane makes it less attractive to travel, that is like a small university in one place, too many people and lots of noise, imagine the rows at the toilet.
Hence, I am aganist this plane.

It takes about an hour to finish boarding a regular Airbus or a Boeing 767. It takes about 20-30 minutes to disembark. That’s 1:30 hours added to flight time. With this sucker you’ll need to double that.
Question: How many of you would enjoy adding 3 hours of dead time to their 6 hour flight?

Entrepreneur, I like the way you think! We should work on something together, ur the entrepreneur, Im the….im the…..hmmmm….errr….I’m Q! Seriously, Massage could work, network games is taking the trivia games a step further! Bar wouldn’t be so practical, but serving free drinks at casino would make more sense, so they get drunk and spend more!! Viewing station is taking the front view a step further with more technology but on top! Exercise, I see ppl breaking teeth while running on the treadmill when the plane is in the middle of turbulance ;P
We can even keep it secret, and trust me we’ll be millionaires!
Lets open a company and buy a small plane and make a flying casino, over Kuwait and Saudi

1) Im sure they can adapt airports for that, look at the new Dubai airpor tthey’re building, makes Kuwait airport seem like a toilet in comparison!
2) That is very true, and its the biggest problem, unless its more cost effective carrying all these travelers which might mean twice as many travelers for 1.5 the amount of oil? Im not sure but im sure they studied that!
3) Very valid point about noise, toilets they can add many many more!
TheKuwaiti, I was on one of the flights the mentioned last week, the only internet service they have is accessing their own website. The rest of teh internet services starts in August according to the small booklet that explains it.
Ayya, They could get the same results by mixing vodka and mini golf! No? hmmmm…sounds like a good idea actually!! LOL!
Jambino, if you look at the picture, u see 7 doors instead of teh usual 2, so maybe it would cut the time? But if its in Kuwait, ull have even more ppl coming in late!

Are you saying they are going to board/disembark passengers through both levels simultaneously? And, how many airports are equipped to do that?
I think the Europeans have committed a strategic error in their zeal to outdo the Americans yet again. This is going to be another European avaiation museum piece just like the Concorde.

how about having a Broadway musical!!
and an extended or enlarged cockpit so that groups of passengers can have turns chillin with the pilots 
wait.. u people do realize it’ll take about 30 minutes for everyone to get into the plane and another 15 to get the plane moving :/

Shady, I love the gizzing golf carts.

No wait … it can’t fit everyone … okay, a pool so nobody would feel left out! Oh Oh, and beds! I don’t care if they’re tiny little bunk beds as long as they’re beds! Sleeping in your seat is sooo uncomfortable. They could have like a little room with a few beds in the more quieter parts of the plane, prefferably faaar far away from the casino. Also, optional partitioning(sp?) built into your seat (to seperate you from your nosey neighbor) would be nice. Aham shay ill casino, mini-golf, will sheesha! looool crazy people

Don’t count on Kuwait Airways even THINKING of getting one of these planes. They’re barely getting by on 12-14 planes, yet they think it’s peachy keen!
I’m very simple with my aircraft demands. All I really want is a seat that is comfortable enough for that 14 hour trip to Australia. DVD rentals or a bookshop would complete the picture
