March 2005

In a surprise move, Ahmed AlSadoun anounced his position today in the parliament session, he is voting….

…..FOR women’s right!

I think this is a big, couragous, long-awaited step from a man with a great histroy. He seems to have pissed all over his history in recent years, but hopefully this is a return to common sense for him.

كفو يا بوعبدالعزيز

1 down….2 to go!! And unfortunately, it has to be 2 from the 3 remaining people the previous post!

Comment:

Like Zaydoun said here, and I quote him -

So, you guys are happy you were able to get Al-Naibari out and have new blood in?? He is by far the BIGGEST disappointment since joining parliament! Never says anything, and when he does, يتحفنا with crap like this!

———————————————————————————–

AlSa3doon….Will he abstain like last time in a sad attempt to not offend any of the parties (women do not count apparently)? Will he become so stubborn like he usually is and vote against womens rights only because it is a مشروع حكومي and Suba7 AlAhmad is behind it??

Comment:

Now that Naser AlSane3 decided to vote against women’s rights, will he follow to ensure he doesn’t lose votes in Rawda? or will he go with what his puppeteers tell him??

P.S. - Happy Mother’s Day in advance ;P

As usual, only in Kuwait….

BuRamia and his Islamists group, plus people like AlKhraafi, AlSa3doon, and AlMu6air all think that Kuwaiti women shouldnt have the right to vote.

So, Kuwaiti women still don’t deserve that right according to them….

Lets take a look at women around the world compared to our Kuwaiti women. I only picked countries that are in someway comparable to Kuwait.

Women in Kuwait do not yet have the right to vote or to stand for election.

————————————————————————-

Remember……the people who will prevent you from your rights think that you dont deserve them while the rest of the world agrees that there is no difference between men and women in voting.

Women have been given their rights more than a century ago in certain places around in the world. We’re in 2005 and we still have people fighting to prevent giving women the vote.

My last post on advertising generated many positive responses.

The main reason for that post was a request to anyone who has old Kuwaiti ads to send them to me if possible. I got great ideas on where to find them, but haven’t done that yet.

I did find a couple of old newspaper (more than 30 years, and decided to scan the ads from that. I will post them on a regular basis, and would love to get more from you people! Anything interesting from today’s magazines and newspapers, to anything 50 yrs old or more…

Anyway, this is the first of my posts….

….an ad for Gulf Bank, back in 1971!

Excellent football messageboard…best I’ve been to! Click on the logo to reach the website….

كرة القدم .. بعيون كويتية

Everybody and their mother seems to have the yellow wristband nowadays. Not only has it become a trendy accessory, but it also is for a good cause.

According to Lance Armstrong, the guy behind the idea, 33 million people are wearing the “LiveStrong” bright yellow wristband, which sell in the US for $1 each, 77 cents of which goes to cancer research.

Now, Nike comes up with its “Stand Up Speak Up” wristband, which is an anti-racism wristband. This comes after the increase of racism in football recently, especially in places like Spain. The Spanish coach, Aragones, was heard calling Thierry Henry (Arsenal and France striker) “that black shit”. This was followed by monkey chants coming from the Spanish crowd everytime a black player touched the ball when England played against Spain. Also, in the Spanish Liga itself, many black players have been abused by fans everytime they touch the ball.

This new wristband is backed by Henry, Ronaldinho, Ferdinand, Puyol, Roberto Carlos, Adriano, Cannavaro, Van Nistelrooy, Rooney, plus many more football superstars.

Obviously, this was sold out as soon as it was in the market. I personally think its a great idea! I would love to have one, because of the cause, and because it actually looks good!

As a side note,

I suggest we start our own wristband for anti-women’s rights and distribute it to BoRamia and his shilla. I suggest a wristband made entirely from human hair, and the hair has to be long and dirty, just like their beards.
