Im pissed off about the Kuwait Saudi game, and Im sick! I do not want to think politics, I want to change pace for now, back to something fun and informative….back to my collection of old Kuwaiti ads. It has grown ALOT since I first started about a month ago, I have many funny ones, and I promised that I will post some here, so here I go….
This time, I am posting an ad for Commercial Bank of Kuwait back in 1972.
We all reminisce about how good the 60s and 70s were and how we are moving backwards in this day of age. I don’t deny that at all, in many ways we have gone backwards, but look at this ad…..
I love this ad! It really is a sneak peek into society at that time!
Reminded me of an article I read recently in TIME magazine about the myth of women and math, how they have historically been looked at as inferior to men when it comes to maths and science. Also, Harvard University’s president, Laurance Summers, caused a huge controversy when he said the reason that there are less women scientists than men is down to difference between the sexes.
How politically correct is this ad? You be the judge, and I guess at least an ad like that will not be accepted at all.
hmm, I wanted to say something but I forgot, hmm (thinking), hmm, oh yeah, no, hmm, …. (still thinking) I could delete all of this and start fresh, but I do not feel like it, so I will keep thinking, I know oh! I can see original post lets see..yeah!! 1972 is not old!

Laurence Summers has said a lot of cuckoo things, not just in that one speech he made about the differences between men and women. He has a long history of stating things like that. However, since he has been the president, his reckless leadership has taken Harvard into a downward spiral in terms of academic staff and development of the university. Decreased hiring and tenure of women, down by huge percentages. Hopefully, his days are numbered.
