Yesterday, my wife and I went to the new starbucks in the Behbehani complex near bait 7. Its a nice place, but thats not my point….we both noticed that everybody looked the same!! Its like there is cloning factory somewhere there that creates shabaaab and banaat!
Shabaab ingredients:
- long hair, preferably pointing upwards
- 70’s cop sunglasses
- laaazim ako facial hair, “dirty look” ya3ny
- tight t-shirt or polo shirt, preferably bright red or yellow
- jeans of course
- bright red or yellow shoes that match the tshirt
Girls ingredients:
- long hair, and has to be wavy….or 3 7jaabs foog ba3ath with lots of glittery stuff
- sunglasses that cover 70% of the face
- a top that has a minimum of 4 dif colors, and has to go down all the way to cover the waist and reach the thighs.
- jeans of course
- high heels
I swear, it was hillarious!! Even the mothers who where there with their kids looked like that!
Oooh…oooh!! I forgot something else…..the look!! Whenever a group of guys or girls enter, they have to have “the look”!! The one that says Im very very serious, Im here on a mission! God forbid any of them came in smiling, their prestige will be destroyed!!
Anyway, it was a fun day! Try it, go check it out, and if you know where the cloning factory is, tell me….ill take pictures and post them!

The day we crossed each other over there was my first visit to that place.. I was impressed with it, so I tended to stop by for couple of times after that, and I started seeing what you are describing, and how packed with fake people it got.. so the last time I was there, when I walked in and felt like walking the cat walk on a walk way, and all are looking at anything that moves over there.. I took the nonfat latte to go and NEVER AGAIN.. end of story..

It’s the hair that gets me. Spiky is OK if it’s short to medium length hair, but these guys take it to the extreme

I am not sure whether it is the first sign of globalization or simply a fashion style taking over.
Whenever I look in my family photo album, I see everybody in minis in the 60s, or with big hair ala fat7ee kamil in the 70s, so what’s new? Our parent’s did it, so why don’t we?
Don - so you are a nonfat-latte-person just like me

I said it once & i’ll say it again… I hate going to starbucks because of hal ashkal but if I had to choose going to one it would be moshref branch. Its quiet, the ppl there are mostly from the area so everyone knows everyone else, there are some forigners so it gives you a feeling you’re in a regular starbucks, hence there aren’t many bashar alsha6i look alike, and of course its in the middle of the co-op so you can buy whatever you want & just grab u a cup of coffee while you’re there.

Im into the 70’s cop glasses, they are fashionably called aviators. Dude I fit more in the guy cloning factory traits, should i be worried?
P.S please tell me when to panic!

OK point#1 7aram that place is a starbucks. and am still on my Starbucks boycott
#2 instead of those big ass glasses why not just wear a burga3? covers just as much hahahaha (well i actually did see a girl in denim skirt, long top, 7jab and burga3 during the walk thing on thursday- it was a burga3 not a niqab).
#3 Q, ana ba3ad gumt athaye3 bain kuwaitis… they all look alike (just imagine yabany visiting)

they are pioneers you have to left your
“عقال ”
for them instead of cursing them .
by the way put your self in their shoes … want they say the same thing about you .. being boring clasicc
…كانك جاي بهدوم امس.. نفس الحطة ..
شخصياا نا محافظ في مظهري جدا جدا بس بصراحة احب اشوف اشياء جحديدة واشوف

q8tkv, where in my post did i curse these people? It was just a snapshot of what i saw, and commenting on it! The main point is not that they look silly, the point is that they ALL look the same, so wain il uniqueness??
Itha 3indik shay yideed o 10 ppl out of the 12 ppl there are wearing it, its not yideed anymore!

It is appropriate that clones would hang out in the biggest self-cloning business around..they are just trying to fit into the starbuck trend of creating exact copies and eliminating imagination and diversity.

Q I love the topic…I remember the last time I went back home I was shocked with the blond phase…every chick in Kuwait seemed to have blond hair…or another time where everyone had boy short hair cut…ilee layeg 3aleeha o ilee mo layeg 3aleeha!!
which is sad because you don’t see the sense of personality in their style…don’t get me wrong it’s nice to have stylish girls and guys but my point is please don’t be followers and dress up in styles that will flatter your body not just becaus everyone else is wearing it!!
I’m still stuck on the pictures from the magazines that my friend sent me and the drag queen make-up…now that’s scary!!!

Did they have that weird platform thing in the middle that looked like an elevated dance floor? I liked the place itself, but you’re right about the crowd
I agree with Bo Jaij, but a little diversity and individuality would be welcome, but then Kwtia said it best!
Bashar looked like shit at Hala February. That t-shirt was ugly, he should’ve shaved, and his hair defied description.. If/when his singing career tanks, he can trace it back to that night!
