What is the first thing that comes to mind when you think of completing any kind of paperwork with the government??

Chaos? routine? need was6a? ختم? long lines? annoyance? employees who dont care?where’s the mandoob?

Thats what goes on anyone’s mind these days, and if you venture into the ministries complex, you wont be dissapointed! Its all that and more!

BUT!! Today I went to the Public Institute For Social Security (PIFSS), and it was like I traveled and was in a civilized country!!

First of all, the building is a nice looking building compared to anything else government owned. I got there, there was alot of decent parking space, and when I went in, the building was really nice from inside, and you are welcomed with a big sign that says no smoking! I like that! And surprisingly, noone was smoking! The place was really really organized, you go to the counter, take your number, and then the person sends you to one of many areas with booths of their own. My wait was about 10 mins, and when it was my turn, the employee was very nice and honestly tried to help me as much as possible! She actually did a few extra phone calls to speed up the process bcz I needed something urgently.

We were done in 10 mins, and she answered all my questions professionally and with a smile! When I was done, she said she’ll call someone to try to speed my papers up. I went to the next person, he asked for my name (got the phonecall already!), took my papers, and I was off in less than 30 mins altogether! I actually finished a mu3amala in the government in less than 30 mins!!! I didnt even think that was possible!!

If you even call them for any questions, they are friendly! It just seems like they were actually trained for customer relations (I know its highly doubtful, but thats what it seemed like)!

PIFSS and the people who work there are GREAT! I hope this friendliness and professionalism bug spreads to other government institutions!

I wonder, does the beautiful surroundings and the professional looking building and offices make workers more professional and less grumpy? Is it possible that the building had this much effect!?
