What is the first thing that comes to mind when you think of completing any kind of paperwork with the government??
Chaos? routine? need was6a? ختم? long lines? annoyance? employees who dont care?where’s the mandoob?
Thats what goes on anyone’s mind these days, and if you venture into the ministries complex, you wont be dissapointed! Its all that and more!
BUT!! Today I went to the Public Institute For Social Security (PIFSS), and it was like I traveled and was in a civilized country!!

First of all, the building is a nice looking building compared to anything else government owned. I got there, there was alot of decent parking space, and when I went in, the building was really nice from inside, and you are welcomed with a big sign that says no smoking! I like that! And surprisingly, noone was smoking! The place was really really organized, you go to the counter, take your number, and then the person sends you to one of many areas with booths of their own. My wait was about 10 mins, and when it was my turn, the employee was very nice and honestly tried to help me as much as possible! She actually did a few extra phone calls to speed up the process bcz I needed something urgently.
We were done in 10 mins, and she answered all my questions professionally and with a smile! When I was done, she said she’ll call someone to try to speed my papers up. I went to the next person, he asked for my name (got the phonecall already!), took my papers, and I was off in less than 30 mins altogether! I actually finished a mu3amala in the government in less than 30 mins!!! I didnt even think that was possible!!
If you even call them for any questions, they are friendly! It just seems like they were actually trained for customer relations (I know its highly doubtful, but thats what it seemed like)!
PIFSS and the people who work there are GREAT! I hope this friendliness and professionalism bug spreads to other government institutions!
I wonder, does the beautiful surroundings and the professional looking building and offices make workers more professional and less grumpy? Is it possible that the building had this much effect!?

Sadly .. 75% of Taameenat customer have no Idea that they own the thing and the people there are their employees .. You are the employer you are the one paying their salary WHY ARE YOU SURPRISE THAT THEY TREAT YOU NICELY ..? I mean it WHY..!!

Maybe they’ve been deceived by the new building & thought they’re working in some kind of private sector company. Give them sometime Q.. they’ll gradually get used to the place and start acting normal again :-P~~

MrsBaker, thx for ur input on this! Im glad its not a one time thing that happened to me! Now I feel more confident in saynig, GOOD JOB PIFSS!!
q8tkv, the reason im surprised is bcz its a government place and they were very nice and very efficient! If u go to some banks (without naming them), ud be amazed at how bad they treat their customers, and they are the ones who need ur business!!
boghazi, I honestly believe its the building effect! It does make u feel like ur working in a real business environment! I hope they have good maintenance there to prevent losing the employee’s enthusiasm!

Q
We have to give credit to Hamad Aljouaan and Mishari Alusaimi for their good work there but still we have to remember that they were driven by the fact that Altameenat is a public owned Inst. founded to care and serves it,s owners … WE THE mushtarikeen

q8tkv, wallaaa i know what u mean! But have u been to the old ta’meenat?? The service and friendliness is not even a fraction what it is now!!

I agree with q8tkv.. Hamad AlJouan does deserve credit for setting the structure of Kuwait’s social security.
Even the US’ social security offices act like a regular Kuwaiti government agency with their routine and waiting time. I hear that Fahad AlRajaán (the head of PIFFS) has done a good job in managing it.
Bs whats up with the building’s lights! Its like a lousy night club when you see it at night.

I believe it’s the management Q, I’ve been to the old building and two days back I visited the new, the service always amazed me, they even had a lecturer that visited our ministry for some clarification and I personally learned a lot.

In all fairness, even the old Tameenat wasn’t bad at all compared to the nightmare that is مجمع الوزارات. It was the one place I didn’t mind going to, they had shaded parking next door and I was usually in and out of there in 15 minutes.
Haven’t been to the new one yet, but I’ve been hearing great things. Now if only this efficiency would be contagious and infect the ministries!

Computers have already revolutionized the way we live and work. Have they changed the way we think? After reading all posts I think they have. People, why do you write what you hear somewhere, not your own thoughts?
