From AlQabas, first page….
What a waste of newspaper space!! Absolutely useless!! Ya3ny his decision on women’s rights is “waathi7 wa saree7″, bes still “ladaih makhaawif!!”?!?
Yaaa akhy if u have a decision thats clear and straightforward, a simple yes or no would be perfect! Why the dancing?!?
First line: لم يكن يوما ضد حقوق المرأة
Then: أن رأيه في مسألة الحقوق السياسية للمرأة واضح و صريح
Last line: لديه مخاوف في موضوع الحقوق السياسية للمرأة و مشاركتها في الانتخاب و الترشيح
In other words, the guy is first NOT AGAINST (but not for) women’s rights, then he’s SURE that he made a decision, finally he says HE’S STILL AFRAID about making a decision!!!!
Thank God we have such leadership for our glorious parliament!!

I can understand a lot of people when they say they fear the results; we all have some fear. Most worries come from the chance that the parliament of 2007 turn into an Islamist and tribal community; bearing in mind that women exceed men in number especially in tribal areas. And some women are already politically active in sheaat community. But some studies have been conducted to show that so long the voting map stays the same; distributed on 25 areas, not much change is expected in the next parliament structure. The ratio more or less would stay the same. Some others have lost any hope knowing that since the structure would remain the same and it had proven its failure through past experience, they don’t care much for women’s participation if it is not supplemented with redistribution of the voting map according to political parties rather than areas. And although I do agree with the latter opinion and support it, I don’t see why not take the first step. So regardless of the outcome, this stage is a “must” that we have to go through in my opinion and there is no need for fear. But khurafi’s fear is different; he wants to keep his last card depending on the final outcome, baring his personal benefit in mind. And that’s why I do not respect his indecision. He is a business man not a patriotic politician and the likes of him is dangerous in the parliament.

من وجهة نظري إنا يجب أن يكون للمرأة حق الانتخاب وليس الترشيح
