Everybody and their mother seems to have the yellow wristband nowadays. Not only has it become a trendy accessory, but it also is for a good cause.
According to Lance Armstrong, the guy behind the idea, 33 million people are wearing the “LiveStrong” bright yellow wristband, which sell in the US for $1 each, 77 cents of which goes to cancer research.

Now, Nike comes up with its “Stand Up Speak Up” wristband, which is an anti-racism wristband. This comes after the increase of racism in football recently, especially in places like Spain. The Spanish coach, Aragones, was heard calling Thierry Henry (Arsenal and France striker) “that black shit”. This was followed by monkey chants coming from the Spanish crowd everytime a black player touched the ball when England played against Spain. Also, in the Spanish Liga itself, many black players have been abused by fans everytime they touch the ball.
This new wristband is backed by Henry, Ronaldinho, Ferdinand, Puyol, Roberto Carlos, Adriano, Cannavaro, Van Nistelrooy, Rooney, plus many more football superstars.

Obviously, this was sold out as soon as it was in the market. I personally think its a great idea! I would love to have one, because of the cause, and because it actually looks good!
As a side note,
I suggest we start our own wristband for anti-women’s rights and distribute it to BoRamia and his shilla. I suggest a wristband made entirely from human hair, and the hair has to be long and dirty, just like their beards.

If ppl in q8 are actually wearing this wristband, then I don’t think they know or give a $hit about the cause. Its just another “habba” that will be forgotten after a period of time. Heck if the majority of ppl don’t give a damn about their constitution which is being raped by our own beloved Gov. then why would the really care about racism!

Pointless stuff… why wear a wrist band and give 77 cents if you can give out the whole $1 to cancer research? Then they find a cure for cancer and charge people millions hahahahaha basically pointless

Sorry about the multiple posts/deletes.. My browser freaked out.
Anyway, Q8sheikh. I think the wristband is a brilliant idea to promote a cause. You have a great point of why not donate the whole dollar, but i’m pretty sure it wouldn’t have been as successful.
People are buying it not only, if not at all, to support the cause, they’re buying it because it’s “cool” and stylish or whatever. You see celebs like Lebron James and actors and other pop culture icons wearing it, and people are fascinated by them. So they buy it also to look like those “cool people”.

The wrist band is a great idea to make out money for good causes, think about it, you pay money for a cause and above that you get something in return, besides when people see you wearing that ‘cool’ band they would want one too and so on and so on..BRIILLIANT IDEA
… What we need here in kuwait is a wrist band for humans rights, we talk about it but we ourslefs deny it.. ya3nii we think that we are better than these poor workers (house workers, cleaning guys etc..) we make fun of them, we sometime shout at them, i am sure that everyone of you has done a thing against human’s rights, a band for this cause is great in here, and the money goes for these people in need, plus a band on your rist is like taw3eyaa to make you remember the cause
Hmm …zaydoun selling a constitution aiding band … the money paid for it where will it go
I really liked the shitty mood band so no one dares to talk to you while you are in this mood
