What a gorgeous day it is today! My wife and I had planned to go to Marina crescent to enjoy the weather, but while on our way there on the 4th ring road, the traffic made us change our minds. The traffic jam started before the Hawalli Jabriya bridge, so we took the next exit instead, and decided to go to Casper & Gambini for lunch.
We went there, parked, and just as we were walking towards it, we looked at the La Piazza area, and I saw someone waving at us….just our luck, it was my brother and sister with my cousin and her dad. The place looked nice and seemed busy, so we decided to join them, we had a really good meal, in a great outdoor setting, accompanied by very poor service. Their food was surprisingly good, especially the pizzas and the spinach ricotta stuffed thing (not sure what kind of pasta).
Following the meal, we decided to walk towards the new starbucks in that area. That starbucks is by far the best coffee shop. Its beautiful inside, and there’s a nice outdoor terrace on the second floor, along with the outdoor seating area downstairs. They also have something that is very unique and very much needed in coffee shops in Kuwait, and that is small private study rooms! They have three of those I think, each with their own private rooms with a meeting room style table seating 6 people, best place for meetings or studying in my opinion. Anyway we had our coffee and our cheesecake outside enjoying the great weather, while many people decided to stay inside, which made no sense at all!
Today’s weather was the best weather we’ve had this year, and it made for a great outing, really enjoyable and our decision to go to that area turned out to be much better than Marina. All in all, I am happy ![]()
Have a wonderful day everyone, enjoy ur last hours of the long weekend!

Funny…I went out today…thought the weather was too hot and humid…and the roads are filthy from the carnivals we had last few days…..
Anyways..glad you had a good time…you had the right crowd with you and that usually helps….
Starbucks private studying rooms….hmmm..well as purgatory said they will be used for other things…and dont be suprised if the tint the windows after a while…so person/group can really study hard and over and go over every chapter over and over again…of course
Group studies will be very popular there…but they shouldnt be allowed to take any hot beverages with them inside….ouch

the weather was great for sure!
I don’t like la piazza here… i think the one in beirut is a zillion times beirut in every aspect… food, atmosphere, decor, and service.
As for the private rooms thingie.. the AUK starbucks has it… i thought that was only coz it was on campus…but ur right they should have more of them…
glad you had a nice day

Q,
Glad to hear that the weather back home is so nice – especially given that today and yesterday we’ve been suffering from extreme cold front; man it feels like absolute zero! I don’t mind the cold as much as having to walk around in a “space suit”, navigating around the accumulated mounds of dirty snow.
But then, I remember the purgatory months of mid-summer, and I think to myself that I should be thankful for this weather

b, no, thank you! We should do it more often…
busynow, yaaa salaaaaam! 3aayish 7ayaatik ;P
anti_reason, allaa i3eenik 3ala the weather! O its interesting how u enjoy purgatory the time we enjoy hell in summer, and vice versa now.
