Purg, u know what? That makes sense! Thats why they really took care of the airport, whoever leaves it to enter Kuwait should be only shown the way back to the airport with a one way ticket to Dubai!
B, did i say otherwise? I just said I sense a subliminibal (as GW Bush would say) message ;P

Kuwait had a great tourism plan back in the 70s. I got this National Geographic from back then discussing Kuwait’s plans of opening hotels, and resorts.
Pretty much the same plan Dubai is using now.

Tourism in Kuwait hahahahahahaha… I mentioned this earlier…if we dont have night life, no booz, and soon no history and culture by demolishing all the old buildings in Kuwait city why in the world would someone wanna come to Kuwait? Can’t understand what goes in the minds fo those in baladiya and “others.” They just dont get the point that the way we look at buildings in europe and india and appreciate the history associated with them, people of those countries wanna look out Kuwaiti architecture and enjoy it.

Nothing happens unless first a dream. Although a step change from wider shores of the Govt’s myopic thinking of past years, all indications are for tourism to arrive in Kuwait; it is still going to take an elephantine gestation.
First of all, Kuwait Municipality will need to be out-sourced to the govts. of Dubai or Abu Dhabi in making this a clean and tidy city state. The devil is in attention to detail - cleanliness of public amenities and roads is the real issue here, not a lack of discos and bars. Take Malayasia for instance, tourism there isn’t doing too badly in spite of being a dry country.
To get the tourist dollars coming in requires an open door non-discriminatory policy toward all foreigners together with a sincere willingness to transform attitudes and make this a tourist friendly country in the true sense of the term.
Is Kuwait truly prepared to take it on the chin and rise up to the occasion?
Yours realistically,
R.O

In order for Kuwait to have good tourism the government be open to western standards. Not all of them but, most of them. We all can do without booze, but as an American in this country I need some type of nightlife. Dance Clubs, Concert Shows, and need I say it Strip Clubs. These type things would bring in so much money into the country. And give the young people of Kuwait much needed relief from the pressures of school and family. For those say “this just can not be because it is not allowed by the Holy Quran” all I have to say is look at UAE. An truly Islamic counrty that uses western ways and Eastern ways in an good balance. Westerns come there for enjoyment and the Muslim way of life is highly respected. UAE has shown the world that you can have your cake and eat it too.
