So I lived in New England for four years, and nothing was won!
Celtics absolutely sucked, and I went to their games often.
Red Sox always choked, and I went to a few games there.
Patriots, barely average team, Bledsoe was QB, when he left they were supposed to crumble.
Bruins….err….dont know, dont care.
Since I left,
Celtics improved, leading Atlantic division now!
Red Sox are Champions for the first time in a gazillion years!
Patriots win 3 Superbowls in the last 4 years!
Bruins…..err….still dont know, dont care even more.
So, I am officially the bearer of bad luck! I bet you if I leave Kuwait for a few years, we will win the World Cup ;-P

Anyway…..congrats to the Pats, excellent game! Watched the whole thing with nibaq (who was snoring throughout…he was rooting for the Eagles), and another friend. Ended sleeping at 7 am, waking up at 8:30 am for work! Still hanging on…..barely….

Walla there is no city in the world for students like Boston! Perfect place….full of culture, class, history, and everything else you wont find in other US cities! It also helps that you get more international students there than any other place, i LOVED it!
aaah…the memories :~(
Anyway, sucks to be u and sucks to have anything to do with Philly right now ;P LOL! im kidding (just in case)

Since you are half asleep when you would read this, I can say whatever I want

The moment I read the first line, I knew what I was going to say, but then you said it at the end
Here is one tidbit that can help you betting fans. Only one black QB ever won the superbowl, and that was Williams with the Redskins againist Denver, 35-10. If memory serves me right, that was in 1987.
Speaking of black QBs, interesting how more and more of them are coming in the game. Lots of flash and buzz, especially Vick, that guy is something, but still there is something elusive with black QB. I mean, look at Trent Dilfer, the guy was average, yet he won with the Ravens the super bowl, which was of course because they had a solid defense.
As Warren Moon, now that was a legend. When a black QB was not even considered an option, that guy came and showed them all what one can do, and of course Cunningham.
There was a chance once of two black QBs going to the superbowl, remember, Tampa with their rookie and the Oilers (well they are called the Titans now, I liked the Oilers better), anyways, had Tampa won, they would have had two black QBs.
OK enough football for me, just a word to the wise, if you want to pick a winner, that is one easy way to know before the game based on statistics.

You guys should have let me sleep til the 3rd quarter, that when the real fun starts. Unlike some people who took naps before the game or woke up late that day. I was up at 8 and also went biking -p.
Much thanks again for having us over Q.
And Warren Moon sucks.

Q… maybe you’re just a Gubbissa
Purg.. it was indeed 1987 and it was a great game…
I think that’s also the game when Joe Theismann broke his leg in the “crack that was heard around the world”!! Damn that hurt!
DC is just as much a good international college town, its not as freezing and the clubs don’t close at 2 am like Boston!!
February 7th, 2005 at 7:25 pm
Zaydoun, yeah, which reminded me of another one, hmm cannot recall the season, but it was Raiders vs. SF, and the RB at that time was Napoleon Kauffman (sp) and in one play, he was pushed back by the defence and his..
People, careful when you read this.. close your eyes if you do not want to..(graphic)
ok, his knee bent backwards!! Imagine how your knee is position, 90 degree down, now imagine it going 90 degrees the other way!!! Not sure if it was the same team when Rambo was on it, but it was one major site!!!

Joe Theismann’s horrific leg incident happened in 1985 against the Giants on a Monday night game. Theismann was replaced by Jay Shroeder and the Redskins beat the Giants 23-21.
February 7th, 2005 at 8:03 pm
Ok, it was not Kauffman, but McCallum, the ex. Navy star. Tried to find a photo or a video of that incident online, but no luck.
Jay! that lousy QB! I remember when he used to play for Oakland, he sucked!!
Yeah Jambino is right, Joe finished in 1985 and then Doug Williams came from Tampa from 86-89. Speaking of the skins, that team with Rypppppppppppppppppppp-ien was something? one season wonder

Speaking to towns.
New York has no class. It is dirty, people with attitude, crimes, every bad thing, you name it.
I love it.

Esetch… I was about to reach into cyberspace and strangle you for attacking my favorite city, then I read your second line and breathed a sigh of relief!
Bloggers (heart) NY!

I guess my Boston experience wasn’t so pleasent…you see I drove to Boston back in in 1998 with some friends to see their friends…I was surprised that their friends were “typical Kuwaityat” they were dressed in brand names from head to toe and their idea of showing us around was to take us to all the Kuwaiti hangouts in Boston..they took us to (Armani cafe, Galleria mall, and “gazeena” in Newbury street) I hated it…ooh and what toped it off we wanted to see a late night movie and their reply was la’a we can’t shegoloon alshabab 3ana if we went to a late night movie!!! ooooooh kill me please…so see Q I couldn’t enjoy Boston wala e3yal Boston

Zaydoun: I love D.C I enjoyed our little trips there but nothing tops off New York in my east coast list

Ok Q, now I understand why I like your blog it’s must be because you are a Bostonian. Boston is a small NYC without the dirty streets, the people’s attitude(may I say waga7a?), the outrageous rents, the za7ma, the army of dogs( I really believe that there are more dogs than humans in NYC and I don’t mind that except that people don’t tend to clean after their dogs ), and the little stuff that I hate about living here. NY is a world of contradictions but It is the WORLD by itself. And you know what they say: “If you make it here, you can make it anywhere”.
But Boston is sooooo suitable for Kuwaiti arrogant students who have no life. People with no interest in anything but shopping, eating out and GOSSIPING about other Kuwaiti people in beans town. You can actually track some people’s “ habits” : from Prudential, to Copley, to Cambridge Galleria, ending up in Moby Dick’s – Kazem and Moty’s Iranian restaurant by the NEU campus.
Boston, Brookline, Cambridge( Harvard Square), Beacon Hill, the North End( Little Italy), the Cape: Provincetown( the East Cost’s version of SF), Hyannis ( I actually spotted a Kennedy there once ), Orleans and many more, need I say more? Oh and the accent… Pak the Caa in Havad Yaad Q

Purg, im sorry dude, dont want to make u sound old, but ur way before my time! ;P Vick, Dilfer, Cunningham, and Moon I know and have seen play many times, anything in 80’s is ancient history in football terms to me! And did u put a bet on it if it was so easy? ;P
nibaq…lol, its all about preperation my man! Sleep early so I can watch the game later, thinking ahead! ;P And 7ayaaak anytime it was fun!
Zaydoun, the Theismann injury I saw, only because it was famous, its still too old for me ;P
O ur right, that really sucked about Boston! I never could understand why they would close at 2! Stop selling alcohol, but the leave the damn placed open at least!
Jambino, im guessing u went to DC too?
esetch, why do u love it then??
Jelly Belly….ok, i know this is a tough one, but I will try to prove to u that Boston trully is a kick ass city! U will find different types of people there, problem is, Kuwaitis only hang out with other Kuwaitis. I remember visiting someone’s apartment once, and this was the scene….6 guys playing kout, KTV1 on tv, Rwaished in the background, and one guy playing 3ood, and the funny part was that 3 of these ppl came to study English! Guess what? They all went back to Kuwait a semester later! U visited “typical kuwaitiat”, u got the newbury, copley, and galleria tour of Boston, which are honestly the worst parts of the city!! But there is another beautiful side of the city…the green giant (Fenway park and NOT fenway cinema), Harvard Sq, North End (little Italy), South End (great restaurants), Boston Orchestra, Fanueil Hall and Quincy Market, Chinatown for afterhours, Beacon Hill, Davis Sq, Museum of Fine Arts, Kenmore Sq, Theatre district, Kenmore Sq, sooo many more great places I cant even think of at the moment! Charles river is beautiful, the whole Cambridge area between MIT and Harvard is wonderful, and u can feel the intelect with cultural events happening on a daily basis everywhere…..
NYchick, so u DO like Boston, right?? o thx for reminding of all these great places! Try saying this with a Bostonian accent…..”Put your carkeys in your khakis”, comes out “Put ya caakees in ya caaakeees!” LOL! I love it!

I wrote something but I think it got lost. Here is my 2nd attempt
Loool that’s funny.
And do I like boston? NOOOOOO, I LOVE BOSTON. I even plan to retire there. Well, I have decades of work to be filled first but still this thought makes me happy. Oh and the Clam Chawda ;p and the Boston cream pie.God bless Boston, the one I know.
February 8th, 2005 at 11:37 am
