As much as I criticize Saudi Arabia and its leaders, I have to salute them on what they have done today with their live telethon with all the money going to the tsunami victims.
As of time of writing this post, they have raised more than $45 million, which is more than the $30 million pledged by the Saudi government. Lets hope it comes close to the $150 million for the families of suicide bombers that was raised in a previous telethon!
Was this even suggested here for Kuwait television?
UPDATE - Now it reached $65 million with Prince Waleed Bin Talal and his family adding the extra $20 million
UPDATE - Final figure…………………. $82 million, not as much as the earlier telethon, but hem ya36eehum il3aafya ilsi3oodiyeen ma gassaraw, hope we can follow suit!

Yes saudi seem to care more about this tragedy
Did you noticed that kuwait Tv didnt really show any sympathey to what happened!!! at least they should let the news ppl wear black or something!!
and more tonight the whole night was a’3aney oo dandana and nothing is changed than normal !!
i feel very sorry for this reaction of this giving country in this hard time.
i have to say this from a scientifical study we studied that another tragedical earthquick will occur in lebanon and jordan and syria and greece that will destroy al sham 3al zero.. in fact my teacher sold his house in lebanon regarding to this study !!
so imagin building in kuwait were down because of 25ml of rain what if that happened in the medetarian is the gov. will help as they are helping now?
i wonder why ? kuwait have been always the first country to aid needers what happened now ?
why they can’t feel this tragedy?

pls dont ruin my vacation MR.Q …(u may reply with “dont check my blog ya boraweeshid)
but u were doing just fine with the right cause advocating collecting more money for the most needy ppl n this moment,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, BUT al7ilw ma yikmalsh! U mentioned “Suicide Bombers” i would appreciate using the phrase “families of the martyrs,, those brave men & women who lost their life for a noble cause
one should always be accurate with the terms he/she uses!

Q,
The question is what were you doing watching KSA TV?
Do you think all this aid coming from around the world would make any difference at all? It is just numbers flashed on a screen, which would not do much in those regions, where the money will end up where it usually ends in someone’s belly.
As for the comment from nooni on earthquakes, that is true, you will see more movement in the next decade around our region, the consequences might be devastating depending on time and place. Note that the earth magnetic field is shifting and in 200 years or even less, you would see major changes, assuming life still exists in Earth.
The end is near.

I saw some of the video footages of the Tsunami. I agree its something big, but I think that most of the damage that happened over there was because of the types of houses, buildings, & streets over there. Made of wood & low quality of building material and that (I think) contributed a lot in increasing the damage. So what i’m saying, if a wave like that Tsunami wave hit Kuwait (Allah laygool) I don’t think the damage will be the same. Just a number of flooded houses (& cham shalaih) & some wrecked cars & flooded streets (AlGhazali for sure!!) & thats almost it!
BUT if we were talking about a big earthquake (& I mean BIG) that might come (I heard it might come from Iran’s side) then we might have a real problem depending on the size of the quake of course.
