This is part of the travel advisory given by the British government about Kuwait:
Road Safety
Driving is hazardous. Many drivers exceed speed limits, switch lanes without warning, frequently ignore traffic lights and speak on their mobile phones while driving with scant attention to other road users. Constant vigilance is essential.
LOL! I love it!
P.S.- Im in a good mood today, I love rain, even though I was stuck on 5th ring road for 1 hour and 10 mins, compared to what is usually a 4 or 5 min drive, Im still in a surprisingly good mood today

They didn’t mention deranged منقبات driving like bats out of hell..
It’s true. Constant vigilance is essential. The simple pleasure of just going for a drive is now dead and buried. You have to keep all your senses alert to the homicidal maniacs on the road. The cops aren’t much better either.

zaydoun, ilyoom on my way on fahaiheel highway, some guy was driving a pathfinder at a speed not less than 150km/h and at the same time “ibatwin”!! With everyone driving at around 80km maximum, and the roads full of water and slippery and rainy with low visibility!
People were flashing him, avoiding him, I looked at the driver, he was 18 at the most, looked 16 actually, with a big grin on his face like he was proud of his achievement!

I’m glad that u r in a good mood today Q.
I miss the “Kuwaiti” rain, but not driving in Kuwait.
Last time I drove in Kuwait my friend kept saying: “Shnow hatha? meta bno9al? leash tmsheen 3ala 100 k/h?” And being driven around by friends and family was like going to a horror movie, a bad one too.
BTW, u came this close to solve the mystery on my blog…”tragbo el7al greeban”. I think I will have to buy u Krispy Kreams too….that’s the prize. Don’t worry, not the ones used for constructing the scenes;P
Zaydoun
Loved your bourgeois/racist comment.
Bo Rashed good for your mother-in-law, how kind of her to say that. There is a difference between hating someone and hating someone’s wrongdoing.

Borashid and Zaydoun, I actually say something of a mix between what u too said, when someone really pisses me off on the road i just hope they have an accident without them getting hurt (salmeen), but having to pay to repair the car as a result of their own stupidity! Im nice
LOL!
NYchick, Ive been in a great mood all day
And the day just got better with time, did something very interesting with alot of future potential, and everything went smoothly, and the clouds were everywhere!
And pray thee tell, what is the answer for this niggling mystery?! I will not forget this Krispy Kreme promise, I will hold ur word for it! Im seriously craving some of that stuff!!

Go check it out.

Nychick… Bourgois, maybe..Racist, how?
It’s mostly true though. You would think that a car that cost a lot of money, whether paid for in full or installments, would lead its owner to be more careful and drive more sensibly. But what do I know?

Dear Zaydoun,
Bourgeois? Definatly
Racist? Defiantly
As for how
Well, race is often used in a broad and vague way by many people, but racial classifications does not have empirical basis in biological genetics or other physical characteristics only. There is something called Scientific Racism which is based on our creation of the myth of two distinct races of humankind. The first race has to be a small elite which can be described as the healthy, wealth (usually old money), educated one. While the “other” race is mainly used to describe the larger population of any country whose members are poor or non-wealthy, vulnerable and uneducable bcz of their “inferior” brains!
Also, by using social psychology of prejudice and discrimination we can identify the wave of the new forms of racism, which has nothing to do with biology and tend to lean towards cultural differences. In our world
Today there are many people who think of themselves as different on the grounds of their nationality, religion, race differences (in the old sense of it) but u can also find people who think they are different and unique bcz of their culture or more important bcz of what ever they believe their race differences are - and that can be anything they want.
One more note, prejudice is the product of frustration and if I hadn’t known that I wouldn’t have wasted my time to explain racism to u.
What a way to spend the weekend ……..

Nychick… ALL humans feel superior to others in their own way, even those who decry racism feel superior over bigoted racists!
But back to the post’s subject. I feel that I, as a law abiding and speed-limit adhering citizen, am entitled to feel superior over reckless drivers.

Zaydoun
U “as a law abiding and speed-limit adhering citizen, are entitled to feel superior over reckless drivers” on that bases-obeying the law-and that bases only, not bcz of what yr previous post indicated (yr socioeconomic status). Well, that’s just my opinion.
