Don’t you just LOVE our unbiased, balanced, Arab journalism? LOL!
This is what it says if you cant read it…..from ARRIYADIYAH newspaper in Saudi…
جريدة الرياضية السعودية: خلوه يتهنا ب(أفراحه) … زماان (ما داوى) جراحه
أزيرق (أي كلام) حسمها بالحظ و أخطاء الحكام
Its amazing the level of shallowness some people resort to! ay kalaam?? 7ath l 7kaam?? haatha mustawa sa7aafa? o ba3dain where is the honesty? What luck and refereeing?? The kids played excellent, they had a better plan, and the results came because they were the better team on the night!

I think we played better than WE USED TO, but to be honest, we did not play better than KSA. call it luck or call it “AlMarjala” illy akheeran la3ibeena 7assaw feeha, but KSA were controling the game.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m soooo happy we won… but I think it was luck. & don’t forget KSA lost one penalty, their player got kicked out (& he was the main supporter/supplyer for alhojom), and last but not least ald3ayi3 sar athwal o tried to block the ball with his feet instead of using his hand!!!

borashid, very true, this is lower than I expected anyone can get! If we played better and lost and a Kuwaiti newspaper said al akhthar “ay kalaam” or “ay shay” o faaz bil7ath, i would be outraged! There is a bare minimum acceptable level of professionalism!
truefaith, jealousy is right! And apparently from a very small minded newspaper editor!

bughazi, they controlled without any faayda! How many decent shots did they have? We played the game very very well tactically with our players compared to the quality that they have in their squad! Our defence was solid, our midfield stopped their midfield, and if u call missing a penalty lucky for us, then missing the counter attack right after would be lucky for them, right??
It wasnt lucky, it was well played and they deserved the win giving a bit extra and it showed they wanted it more than the Saudis did! An excuse they’ve been using everywhere is “D3ayi3 and Takar made mistakes and we scored”….well DUUUH!! How many goals come from opposition mistakes in football? either poor marking, missing the ball, doing something silly….etc! They picked those players in their national team, which means they are the best in their positions, and they messed up, and we made the most out of it, THAT IS FOOTBALL!
I absolutely dont expect us to win the cup, I dont even think we’ll beat Bahrain, but nothing can take the deserved win against Saudi away from the players!
And more importantly, its the way and language used in that paper that I wanted to show, not the message! The message is that they are pissed, the way of showing it is very childish!

I agree that their comments were childish, & again i’m saying we played better than we used to, but I still think that luck was on our side!

They’re just jealous that nobody on their team is as hot as Bader Al-Mutawa.

I think Arriadiah was a bit harsh on you. But as a Saudi, I was really mad when the match ended. Not because Saudis lost. It’s football, you know. But simply because Kuwaitis were not that good. The Saudis had the match in their hands and they lost it.

Ahmad, ur right, Saudi did have the game in their hands, and they lost it, but that is football like you said! And to be fair, this is an excellent achievement by our youngsters against a very good team, and it was a deserved win, they tried harder, they focused better, and the result went their way.
