I have never been a morning person. All my life I’ve tried to make the most of my weekends by sleeping as much as possible. Even when I was in college, my class schedule revolved around how much sleep I can get. My last two years of college my earliest class was 11:30. I dont mind taking classes till 7pm as long as you dont wake me up early. Even now at work, I used to work at a company where the schedule was 7:30 - 2:30, and I couldnt handle it! Now my work schedule is a 9 - 5 one, and Im a million times more productive and I dont mind it at all!
Anyway….the past two weeks I’ve had lots of trouble sleeping. I’d be tired all day, and by 8pm Id be dead, but even if I tried sleeping Id just toss and turn in bed without being able to. So I would end up sleeping sometime around 11 or 12pm, and wake up at 4am!! To make a long story short, my sleep was absolutely messed up, I wouldnt be able to concentrate while driving, my eyes would hurt, it wasnt good at all. Finally a few days ago, I slept for a decent 10 hours, woke up refreshed and happy for the first time in what seemed like ages! Since then, Ive been sleeping early, waking up early, which is TOTALLY not me! My friends are all amazed too!
This is totally new to me, not feeling tired at work, not having the urge for a siesta after work, not having to drink gazillion shots of coffee, and more importantly, Ive actually been going out and about during morning hours in Kuwait, something that I have never done in my life! Its excellent!!! Very different atmosphere, different crowds, its a whole new ballgame as they say. Went to marina crescent with my wife Friday for coffee (no breakfast bcz we had plans for lunch), and we both loved it! The kids running around, arguing, rollerblading, cycling, the maids and mothers running after the kids to prevent them from climbing the rail……all sorts of live entertainment was there! The few people there were either families or people who didnt go with the intent of bothering others, really pleasant!
There was something pure and real about the whole situation…..none of the fake ppl with their fake masks….just normal people acting like normal people….very refreshing!
I decided that I will become a morning person from now on! Next friday we have Souq Mubarakiya planned really early. Its like I was blind and now my eyes are open to the world around me, its such a weird feeling!

Indeed Q it is amazing… If I have things to do I always choose to do it during morning hours. If I don’t get up then I schedule it for another morning. I hate going out in the evenings to places like Marina.

Yes.. waking up early in the morning is nice especially if you had a goodnight sleep of course. But Q I have some bad news for you… YOU CAN’T & WILL NOT MAINTAIN SUCH LIFE!!!! Believe me I’ve been there! It lasted one week, when I used to sleep at 10 o’clock & wake up @ 6 for work & boy was I refreshed.. but as I said, it lasted one week only, & I went back to my usual life (sleeping not before 1:30 OR 2:00 AM) & going to work feeling really tiered.
Anyway, if you could maintain this sleeping early program then consider your self a pure shaiba & I’ll definitely make sure you’d go & visit ma63am alsayid!!
I’ll pick you up at 5 AM

these days the weather makes mornings even more incredible. yesterDAY i took my laptop and left my stupid cube to set in the small garden we have at work finalizing shesamona .. after awhile more ppl came .. I really like cloudy rainy mornings..
apart from the morning-weather enjoyment, early mornings are best time 2 do thingz @ governmental offices; no long queues, employees just came & did not start ordering ba6a6 o falafel.
Q. go catch a movie @ 10 or 11 am show in winter and for me even if the movie itself saka the surroundings [both physical and mostly emotional] make u feel so great! … sa7 naset ent boycotting KBCC:Pp

burashid, i know what you mean about government offices, I went to mujama3 alwizarat saturday morning and it was pleasant for the first time ever and not crowded at all! I also happen to work in one of the most beautiful locations in Kuwait, my office is a few steps away from the beach with our own little table outdoors, its incredible

Ra1, my workday finishes at 5, and by the time i reach home its 5:30 or 6! So I agree with ur point on how precious the weekend becomes…..this past weekend really felt great and loooong bcz i woke up in the morning and had 2 full days instead of my usual waking up at 1 or 2!

Q,
I usually sleep at 9:30, only in Ramadan I go to bed on 11:30. So I couldn’t imagine your night life.
Welcome to my world.
