Don’t ask me why, I just do. I get depressed the day before Eid. When I got the call earlier today, and I was told that Eid was Saturday, all I kept thinking to myself was ‘whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy?!!?’
Let me exlpain -
- I have to suffer the agony that is Eid
- I also end up losing a day of vacation, meaning instead of going to work for 2 days only this week, its 3 days! I needed this long break!!
- Arsenal game tomorrow at 3, which means I will probably miss alot of it, if not all! What makes it worse is that its a London derby game, Arsenal - Tottenham!
Oh cruel destiny!!!
On the plus side, Ramadan is finally over! Life goes on, and I will start my day with a big cup of coffee from starbucks ![]()

This is the second time you mention having coffee at starbucks & by that I can tell you’re a starbucks junkie
I hate Eid as well.. I think this has started when I was employed and –as a result- stopped receiving a “3eedya”.
I hate it when every year, the first day of Eid I would not wake up coz i’d be already awake and end up visiting all the relatives & then head to my grandfather’s house to have lunch with all the family and then go home get some sleep at around 4:00 pm, AND THEN I’d wake up at 3:00 AM all alone and have nothing to do except watching TV, so I ask myself the same question, LAAAAAAISH MA SAAAFAAART!!!!
Then the intelligent cells that remained in my brain answer me “ummmmm.. maybe because you’ve spent all ur money you fool”!!!

I hate 3eed too. but my reasons are different than yours. you see there is this big family break and as a result I don’t go to my grandparents houses; either one. so my 3eed is just a normal holiday. no new clothes no visiting, nothing speacial at all. but it’s all good
family is the best 3eediya anyone could ask for.
be thankfull for what u have u guys

Another thing I hate about Eid are all those lousy sms messages that go
كل عام و انت بخير
و عساك من عواده
أخوك …. …..
And they expect you to answer them back ba3ad !!!

peach,
ur right, family is the best 3eediya & i’m not complaining about them… its just that I hate it when I go from one place to the other and I had no sleep at all (emwaasil min ams) and thats whats gonna happen now as well.. its 3:00 now I’ll leave house in around 3 hours !!!
I’m sorry about the family break & I hope it would be sorted out in the future

peach….im always thankful for family, i just dont like the mujamalaat and going as fast as u can from one house to another! Doesnt really mean spending quality time with all these ppl.
bughazi…totally agree on no 3eediya part! Now that im married too, its worse with the kids, now they expect 3eediya!! screw those filthy midgets!! Noone will get anything until i have one of my own……and yes i am a starbucks junkie, caffiene overload!

Oh….and i forgot to mention….17 SMS messages and 5 calls!! All before I even got up! And no, nobody should expect me to reply, I never did before and I wont start now. Maybe if i stop replying, in a few yrs they’ll get it and stop filling my SMS inbox with the msgs!

Q, YES.. do not give any child 3eediya till you have ur own child first, & even then, check how much ur relatives are giving ur son/daughter and do the adhere to the same rate

The best thing about 3eed is the 2nd day lunch, 1st day is just too hectic…
anyways … 3eedkom imbarak o ayamkom sa3eeda :>

First of all, Arsenal won the derby game 5-4 in what can be called game of the season by far! I actually saw that game, and enjoyed every minute of it, so the day does have its bright spot!
Regarding food, first day is hectic and you always end up stuffing urself silly and regretting it with a bad heartburn for the rest of the day!
Second day is excellent, especially since I havent had sushi all Ramadan, and please put in mind that I eat sushi at least once or twice a week! So Im so looking forward for that and made reservations last week!!

Sushi! Oh, how I’ve missed sushi. Like you, Q, I’ve been so excited at the prospect of having my morning cup o’ java (and yes, from Starbucks, which I LOVE. According to a fellow blogger, I am a consumer whore.) that I completely forgot we can also eat! Eat things non-Ramadany! Like SUSHI!
Yay.
Please find below SheWrites’ suggestions for a hassle-free Eid:
1) Stay up really, really late the night before, preferably watching movies. (I recommend Supersize Me. Wai3 on you if you ever eat fastfood again after watching it.)
2) Sleep in really, really late the next day, thus missing the insanely overwhelming Eid-family get-togethers.
Et voila! First day of Eid, over.
Rinse, repeat.

Congrats on the 4-5 win on Tottenham… I don’t like Eid either… It’s really boring, and you usually end up with nothing to do whatsoever! Anyways as for the football thing (previous post) Kuwait sucks at football. I’m thinking of going to the Kuwait VS Malaysia game just for the fun of it although I know I’m not going to impressed at all. Girls can play better than our team! Besides after seeing loads of English football games, it just makes you cringe everytime you see them play.

N, couldnt sleep in for Eid, this is my first eid after marriage, so i had to wake up early and do the family rounds, which are now twice as bad visiting twice as many ppl! As for sushi, I actually even dreamt of sushi today!
D&G…..thx same to u! Its finally over
granmafunk…..Thank you so much about the game!! Did you see it? Beautiful 9 goal thriller!! Really made my day, still smiling when i think about it :)))
