Coming to work today, I heard on the radio that Tunisian president won by 94%, i smiled, then decided to try to find out how shit are we when it comes to democracy! Here are the results from my research…..enjoy ![]()

Libya - chief of state: Revolutionary Leader Col. Muammar Abu Minyar al-QADHAFI (since 1 September 1969); note - holds no official title, but is de facto chief of state
Iraq - Saddam 99% (1979 - 2003)
Tunisia - BinAli 94% (down from 99% last 2 times, in business since 1987-just won 5 more years)
Yemen - Ali Abdalla Salih 93% (ruling since 1993)
Syria - Bashar Al-Asad 93% (hmm….handling the family business started by daddy Hafez in 1970)
Egypt - Hosni 88% (this includes 35 independent candidates who suddenly joined his party after winning! LOL! P.S. - president since 1981)
Israel - Barak (1999) 56%
Israel - Sharon (2001) 62%
US - Bush 48%

I always wonder why they even bother with elections. They should just declare themselves “rulers for life” and be done with it!

Wow! with these high outcomes their campaign managers must be genuises! (wain Bush/Kerry 3anhom?)
but seriously…I blame the people 1st THEN the leaders (and I’ve heard all the mumbo jumbo about the people’s oppression, blah, blah, blah).

99% !!! they wanted to say 100%,but had to remove this 1% to convince people that elections was fair … who would believe that!

99.9% is the holy number for Arab leaders. It should be trademarked for this region!
