In the newspaper today, from Al Qabas (the only decent newspaper in Kuwait), front page, bottom half, three interesting pieces of news in an interesting order.

First: ‘Liberals win in Kuwaiti student elections in UK’ - for the first time in its 17 year history, the islamic union loses control of the student organization there.

Comment - This follows the same trend in the US two years ago, when the islamists lost their 20 year control over the student union. So….both US and UK Kuwaiti students kicked out the islamists from control finally! In the Kuwait University elections, islamists gain more popularity and win by a bigger margin while the liberals lose more!! It just doesnt make sense! Is it safe to say that Kuwaiti students who study abroad are from more liberal families, or from inner areas of Kuwait, while KU students are a bigger mix with a much larger number of non-liberals and from more distant areas??? Anyway, its a sad time we live in!

Second: ‘Unlicensed gathering dispersed in Adaan area’ - Security forces dispersed a gathering in a private home yesterday in Adaan, where a group that is calling itself ‘Renewal (or change) Party’ (7izb Altajdeed) and calls for purely Islamic law Taliban style had a lecture entitled ‘The US campaign against Islam’.

Comment - Being democratic, they should have the right to have that meeting. Being a person who loves Kuwait and despises anyone who puts anything else ahead of it (including religion), I think everyone who attended should be shipped to Afghanistan in crates. They can enjoy their Islamic Laws in any way they please. I absolutely HATE, ABHORE, LOATHE, DETEST, those backward bastards!! They are the worst kind of scum and danger to our country!

Third: ‘Taba suspected terrorists were 10 including a woman’ - Apparently, they came by sea from Saudi and Jordan.

Comment - At least women are getting more and more involved in what used to be a purely male dominated industry. They can kill themselves for Islam, but NOOO, never let them vote, they cant make rational decisions, they’re too emotional!! typical.

So…basically the news in order went from good, bad, worse. Basically a microcosm of our society nowadays. And the only piece of good news comes from abroad, again, typical.
